Right now def. RJ he always finds a way to score .

Deng still has to develop that kind of scorers mentality .

RJ is also good defender although when he has to score more his defense becomes shacky .

This really isn't close.

Chicago would be a playoff team right now with RJ there over Deng.

This season, Deng is averaging 17 - 6 - 2 on 47% shooting.
This season, RJ is averaging 23 - 4 - 3 on 46% shooting.

And when you consider that Deng doesn't play any defense... this isn't close.

There's a reason why Deng didn't get an extension, and Jefferson did.

Deng plays a ton of defense. In fact, he's a terrific defender!

I still chose Jefferson though. The question is 'right now' and since Deng is injured and Richard is stepping up his game, you just have to go with number #24.

It's telling that on the fastbreak Deng loves to pull up for jumpers while RJ takes the ball to the rim with authority.

Agree with Morten Jensen again, though. RJ since he's just playing very well right now. But again, Deng has been injured and in and out of the starting lineup. Wouldn't be surprised to see him surpass RJ some time.

Unless Deng becomes way more aggresive towards the basket he won't become better then RJ .

I don't know if he'll be able to do that .

Well, this is the bad year to compare.

Deng has been injured and has been in and out of the lineup and not even getting many minutes right now and is not even 100% yet.

Therefore RJeff is better right now but for the future, Deng any day.

This is easily Jefferson. I'll take the guy who attacks the basket over the guy who takes mid-range Js all game. Deng isn't close to being the scorer that RJ is, even if he is a little better on defense.

Uhmmm...

61% of Jeffersons shots are jumpers

62% of Dengs shots are jumpers

78% of Jeffersons points are assisted

66% of Dengs points are assisted.

85% of Jeffersons dunks are assisted

78% of Dengs dunks are assisted

Jefferson has a 17.95 PER

Deng has a 17.17 PER

Jefferson per 40 is 24/4/3

Deng per 40 is 20.5/8/3

Jefferson plays 38.7 minutes per game

Deng plays 33.4 minutes per game

Having said all that - I take Jefferson right now.
