Torch being passed--fish to farmar !!!
I can see J far starting in the not to distant future w/ fish as the back up...Jordan's speed and abilty to create this own shot consistently has earned him that........PJ is uber old school but he must see the same thing....
And it's not just based on this game, Fish has slowed some since his crazy hot start and Farmar has impressed .....

I think Farmar is better suited coming off bench because of his high energy level. Playing with our second unit allows him to handle the ball a lot and make plays which will in turn help his shooting. Fisher is more of a spot up shooter and therefore fits in better with Kobe, Gasol, Bynum and Odom. Our bench is strong because of Farmar and we should probably not change it so drastically to disrupt the chemistry.

Fish takes those because it's medium risk high reward and he used to be automatic on those at the beginning of the season.

Torch being passed? In what sense?
Starting? I don't think Farmar's going to start this year. The reason our bench is one of the league's best is primarily due to Farmar.
Talent-wise? I don't know, Farmar was a better talent even as a rookie.
Some of you guys are upset that Fish's outside shot isn't going right now, but that's his game. He's not the most consistent shooter, but when he's on, he can change the game.
He flops on defense and he just tries to draw the whistle on drives. But that's his game.
Yet he works hard, is a good leader, throw in all the proverbial intangibles, and just accept this temporary funk he's in.
Luckily we do have Farmar, so why stress? Farmar gets more minutes when Fish struggles, so everything's under control.

QFT. Farmar's best comes out with the ball in his hands and Fisher is money alongside Kobe.

its not always a good idea to have all your offensive start and have bunch of role players coming off the bench... then your bench begins stinking and players starting just end up being tired out running around not doing as much because the offense is spread out among 5 players instead of the main 3.

I still think Fish needs to be more patient and wait, he can get a better shot. Also, last nights game he had a 3 on 2 or it might of been a 4 on 2 and decided to pull up with the guy in his face while Kobe was wide open for a 3 and if the defense was able to close out on Kobe he would of been able to pass the ball to the machine in the corner. Those are plays a point guard should be making especially on the fast break.

I like him coming off the bench. I have to give some credit to Phil, in the past he's gone with a set rotation and rarely wavered from it unless injuries or fouls forced him too. He seems more willing to let the "hot" player finish games this year, as evidenced by Farmar closing out last night's game. If Fish continues to struggle, then I'm sure Farmar will get more minutes, as he should. Depth is a good problem to have. I think we should be using it more to play even more up-tempo. We have the depth to run teams for 48 minutes and wear them down, we should be doing more of it, can't complain too much with the results, though.

I think Farmar is the better player but this is the only time were I think the better player should come off the bench because come playoff time they will need Fisher's expierence because besides Kobe none of the starting 5 has alot of playoff expierence. Odom has some but has never been deep and Gasol has only been to the first round a couple of times.
