Too bad for the big fella. Another Bill Walton perhaps?

As far as fantasy basketball goes, I owned him in the JSOnline league. I recently dismantled the two time defending champ L&H, but now I'll be hard pressed to win that league. My realgm league injury woes have now crossed over a second league.

Trade Bogut for him.

We would be the richest NBA team with Yi and Yao.

Well now you have.
Alston/Jackson/Brooks
Tmac/Head/Green/Haluska
Battier/Novak
Landy/Hayes
Scola/Mutombo

I think if Tmac starts scoring higher again and they keep playing team ball like they do they could still hang onto their playoff spot. I don't see them getting out of the first round though.

I agree. Without this injury, the red hot Rockets could battle for homefield advantage in the tough West and could have been very dangerous for the type of basketball they play. They could even reach the Finals, to me. That bad injury will not end Rockets' postseason berth chances, but they are not going to be competitive with the very best teams in the Playoffs.

It is probably best if they don't make the playoffs so the Lakers/Spurs/Suns/Hornets all have better teams to face.

TMAC is good, and as I witnessed too many times vs the Bucks and Bulls unfortunately when he is on, he is one of the best in the business. However, he can't carry a team at all (let alone by himself) out of the 1st round.

I feel bad for the Rockets, though. If you think Redd's contract is bad, imagine paying double his contract for only one star, seeing as how Yao and TMac average one full season between the two of them per year.

Rockets without Yao is still better than the Bucks, how sad.

It'd be sad if his career end up like Grant Hill's. kinda feel bad for him, it's tough for even small players to go through a NBA season and play all summer, seems like all the games he has to play are catching up.

I wonder how Yi is taking this news...

I bet he had some pretty high hopes for the national team this summer... Hopefully he can keep his chin up and use this as motivation to get better to relieve some stress from yao.

I wonder how this will impact someone like Yi, and even Bogut and other international guys to an extent, during the rest of this season. Will they put in 100% or coast a little to try and stay healthy for the Olympics?

There are some reports out there that Yao could actually comeback this season. But the Chinese government is making him sit out so he will be ready for the Olympics. The Olympics are everything to them this year, they are not going to lose their best player to injury.

Reports are completely false. Shouldn't post stuff like this unless you have link imo.

Depending on the treatment the recovery time for him to be able to start rehabilitating is 3.8 months to 6 months. It depends on if hes going to have surgery or wear a non weight bearing boot. Surgery is the fastest option and the option thats most recommended for athletes.

Read up on it at http://www.aafp.org/afp/20030101/85.pdf if you want.

For the record Yao's never gotten seriously injuried playing for China these past 5 years. Furthermore, he said himself during the press conference that missing the olympics would be the biggest loss of his career so far.

Hey, I'm just the messenger lol. Well that makes me feel better about it all then. If it's 6 months then he'll be ready just in time for the olympics and if it's less he'll be fine.
