The Lakers are ranked 5th in the league in rebounding. We'll be even better when Drew comes back.

I feel like we've become the new Phx Suns. Our style isn't the same but we've been getting out rebounded and we still blow teams out easily by 20,30. They just can't stop us offensively.

Good stat, and this must be scary to the rest of the league given our offensive prowess.

We're ranked 5th because we were one of the top rebounding teams in the league with Bynum.

Pau has to put more effort on the rebound, mostly in defensive ones since in offensive rebounds he's on his memphis numbers, its true that sometimes he doesnt even fight for easy rebouns and leaves them for LO or Kobe but a 7 footer with his arms just cand end a 35 mins game with 3 or even 6 rebounds, he should really focus on that.

lamar finally got pt, gobbled up all the boards, and its almost even now. not surprisingly the lakers extended a lead once that happened.

Hell yeah to this thread after tonights performance ... i know for a fact it will improve when Bynum gets back but until then Odom needs to keep gobbling them up and even though Gasol got a double-double he had some moments where i thought he should have grabbed the rebound ... i hope this doesn't become a problem down the stretch

Maybe lakers need to play defense so that they won't get so easily under the basket. Or we can just call for Andrew Bynum to the rescue.

Lakers still managed a 13 point victory despite a 5 offensive board differential.

On the whole, rebounding isn't nearly as important as consistently good man up/help D nor is it as important as executing your offensive sets to perfection as the Lakers have been doing recently. Tonight was an off night offensively and they still managed 96 points on just under 48% shooting and held the Blazers to under 36% shooting.

Why? At most, 5 assists turns into 15 points (if he were to assist on 5 threes). 10 boards, however, can make a difference of up to 30 points (up to 10 threes taken away from the opposition).

Rebounding's pretty damn important...

If the other team is getting offensive rebounds every time and shooting 100% on threes, you have bigger problems.

Defensive rebounds are the least valuable stat, because generally you are just taking it away from a teammate.

well heres something else thats key. true bynum is huge. but also, just looking at countering moves of our WConference opponents, the spurs have picked up kurt thomas.

many mention bynum, but ALSO, the loss of trevor ariza is big. he will play a big part in adding more strength on the inside.

hes listed as 6'8, but only 210. while thomas 6'9 235. but lamar, bynum, ariza, pau and of course, rony should be good enough size to take them on.
