50W before 20L? Poll...

Post#1 » by Erik Eleven » Wed Feb 27, 2008 3:55 pm

Phil had set a goal to win 40 before losing 20. That goal was reached yesterday. Having won nine of the last ten, is it unreasonable to assume that they have a fair shot at winning ten of their next 12? If so, that would put the Lakers at 50-19. Here's the schedule:

vs Miami
@ Portland
vs Dallas
@ Sacramento
vs LA Clippers
vs Sacramento
vs Toronto
@ New Orleans
@ Houston
@ Dallas
@ Utah
vs Seattle

Do you think they can do it?

Can? - absolutely.

Will? - That 4 game road stretch at the end will be tough, great benchmark for where they are though. I say yes, and will take it a step further and call 11-1 with the loss coming @ Utah.

I dont see many games we can loose there. Dallas at home should be good. Utah on the road, last game of the road trip...we'll prolly loose there. We own NO always so no worries there.

Only two games that i see us loosing are Dallas and Utah on the road, but we can still win those.

I say 12 of 12, 20 game win streak YEEEEEEEEAH!

I'm thinking the same thing, especially after the bynum appreciation thread that then resulted in injury.

I think we'll fall just short. There are going to be games where the other teams play out of their minds, and while that hasn't happened recently, it's bound to.

If that doesn't happen, then I say we win 10/12. If it does, then I'll go with 9/12. Whatever the case, I do feel that we'll be 50/20 at worst, unless <unspeakable> happens.

I say it's possible. So if we do loose 2 maybe even 3 games during that stretch, the remainder of the schedule is a cake walk.

Sun 23 vs Golden State
Mon 24 @ Golden State
Wed 26 vs Charlotte
Fri 28 vs Memphis
Sun 30 vs Washington
Wed 02 vs Portland
Fri 04 vs Dallas
Sun 06 @ Sacramento
Tue 08 @ Portland
Thu 10 @ LA Clippers
Fri 11 vs New Orleans
Sun 13 vs San Antonio
Tue 15 vs Sacramento

Other than 1 game in Golden State and 2 games at home against Dallas and San Antonio there's not much that poses a threat.

Lakers 60 win season. book it.

Don't be surprised if we lose games like @ Portland or vs Miami or vs Toronto and we win games like @ Utah, @ Dallas, @ New Orleans. It just seems to happen sometimes in the NBA.

I voted no to 50 before 20, however, I think we might hit 60 before 22.
