Warriors get their rebounding at the 4 and the Lakers' get wing defender in Pietrius and AL who can play on the block and at the three...... It works on trade checker
Yeah but its not a good deal. Al and Pietrus are spare parts in what GS does. Barnes usually starts at the 3. They would be getting rid of players they really dont need only to add a player that would fit perfectly with them and there is a good chance that we have to face them in the playoffs. They get the better end of the deal.
Lets not overate pietrus here he is not better on defense than Ariza. LO and Ariza >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Al and Pietrus.
We are playing great with Lamar. Lamar will also be a huge expiring deal next year if we need to move him.
No way, this is a bad deal for the Lakers.
Cheers.

Now we'll see if what some of us have been saying about Lamar is true. I for one have always thought that Odom does whatever nobody else is doing. Since Gasol came to the Lakers, so far so good, Odom is thriving in a smaller role and doesn't have to focus on cleaning up after ithers so much. When Bynum comes back, there is a possibility that Lamar will play even better because his role will get even more specific. The fact that he hasn't shut down SFs in the past is in part due to the fact that he is not as quick as most SFs, but also because he's had to cover for other players' deficiencies. I think we'll see Odom shutting SFs down more and more on the perimeter now when he knows that someone else has his back and not just the other way around. If it doesn't work out well, we should trade him next summer. But I think it'll work our better than we think.

The question in the past was whether he deserved to be getting what he's earning based on what he does. The question is becoming increasingly irrelevant now that the pieces are in place to make title runs for several years, but it isn't entirely eliminated. Before it was about cap considerations, now it's about luxury tax considerations. Again, it's a pretty irrelevant issue if Buss is willing to pay, but Odom's still overpaid and it was a problem in the past.
