Yao booed during Washington game?

Post#1 » by jzmagik » Wed Feb 27, 2008 8:15 am

http://www.washingtontimes.com/apps/pbc ... e=nextpage

"The Houston Rockets may have announced earlier in the day that center Yao Ming was done for the season and playoffs with a stress fracture, but they still showed footage of the former No. 1 overall pick's highlights from this season. The crowd gave a mixed response: cheers from the fans in support of the 7-foot-6 center, who was on the sidelines in a dark suit, and a smattering of boos from those bitter because he now has failed to play a full schedule the last three seasons. ..."

Are you f****g kidding me? Booing a man for working his ass off, for giving 100% night in and night out? This really disgusts me. The people who booed Yao should be banned from attending Rockets games.

Houston fans are crushed. This is expected. One thing though that I liked from the fans tonight. This has probably been the hardest they have cheered for this team not counting the playoffs. They realized the guys on the court needed them and they stepped up and backed them all night.

Booing an injured player is classless, no matter if it's your favorite player or your least favorite player, whether the guy plays for your team or your most hated rival.

I guarantee you would not be saying this if it were McGrady who got the boos. You'd be flaming Houston fans for their fickleness and their lack of appreciation and call for McGrady to be traded to a city where he will be appreciated and loved.

Do you ever stop trolling? Man I hope you leave soon. With no basketball knowledge outside of Yao being in the high post too much I think you will just about run out of things to comment on. No Yao should = no you. Why are you still here?

Boourns is the name I use when I play TFC/TF2 and other fantastic games because it's quite possibly the greatest name ever created. You rule.

I will see your boo-urns and raise you a I bent my wookie.

Do you ever stop being a TOF and pissing off not one, but two groups of fans with your Tracy devotion?

You're the one that said since Yao is hurt again the Rockets should trade Tracy to help Tracy's legacy because the Rockets have let Tracy down. It does not get more TOF than this. The equivalent of for a YOF would be demanding the Rockets trade Yao to the Lakers so he can get out of Houston and play in LA where there is a far larger Asian community.

Orlando Magic fans flame you up and down for being a TOF, forcing a "Yao is injured" thread to be locked because it ended up as a "Iggyemu is a stupid TOF thread". Who is the troll here?

Maybe once McGrady is traded you will leave, and you can manage to offend a third group of fans, then you will be fully satisfied.

Seems to me both of you only like the Rockets because of a certain player and once said player leaves you will no longer care about the Rockets, but hey to each his own. Battle it out to the death! Internet fights are fantastic! Flex those e-muscles!

:lift:

I'm just messin' with you guys, I love you all.

They must be Taiwanese. :)

Even if Yao is a gimp, he doesn't deserve to be booed. I guess some Houston fans are p'd off that he hasn't finished a full season in 3 years.

Yao really needs to have a full summer off to recover and rest. Unfortunately, the Chinese government has too much riding on his appearance in the Olympics.

The only person here who is offensive and disliked is you. you seem to turn everything into a tracy hate fest. iggy didnt even mention a word about mcgrady and yet you seem to make this into another tracy hate thread.

Just leave us real fans alone now. yao is not here this season, so go to yaomania and leave us be. damn bandwagon troll.

Wow, how did a Yao discussion descend into a racial issue on a personal level so quickly? This is basketball, it's a game that kids play and it's a game we shell out horrendous amounts of money to watch some of the most freakishly athletic people in the world do on a nigh night to night basis. But that's it. It's a frigging game.

Rockets fans are lucky enough to have two amazing artifacts of human basketball prowess on the roster in the same time. Add to the fact that they are immensely likable and marketable, I can't think of any reason why fans continue to bust each others balls over what is, by and large, our much better than average fortune.

I guess people are just upset over Yao's injury, but people get injured all the time, and we'll still make the playoffs if we play like played the Wizards. Can't we all just be a little more positive?

All we have to hope for now is that other teams play like wizards. Then we'll be all set.

Return to Houston Rockets
