I think he was considering going to rockets... got the news about yao and then changed his mind to the next 2... that could explain the delay.

Haven't had time to read the whole thread but doesn't he gave to be on an NBA roster by 3/1 to be elidgible to play in the playoffs?

with the 30 day rule in effect I don't see any reason why he'd go back to the Spurs if he can't play in the playoffs.

He just has to be CUT by March 1st, which he was, so he's already earned his playoff eligibility.

I think the whole point of having that rule wasn't to prevent players from free agent being signed to fill any holes before the playoffs... i think it was to prevent teams close to making playoffs, but realizing they won't make it to playoffs, from going on a buyout spree to save money since they will opt out in the offseason anyway and jumping on the bandwagon to the top team.

anzkillabeezZz: With the way things are looking, I'd like to see you own up to your various-board-spread prediction and case, being wrong about Barry going to the Rockets. And to the Spurs or Suns, instead. Show accountability for your strong position.

A sudden follow-up on this:

So the media attention factor claim, is even more irrelevant.

I figured he'd be in a commercial, but didn't think he had that much stuff there.

anzkillabeezZz - it may be your turn to step up to the plate.

Maybe you've been busy, but you've disappeared ever since things have narrowed down to the Spurs/Suns (outside of the Rockets board, where you said in a thread, "the rockets didn't need that hasbeen Barry anyway" and called him a "punk"). And in that, have swayed to the Spurs.

Well, it looks like it's the Spurs according to TNT.

Pretty obvious that Brent had the Spurs in mind the whole time and the Spurs prearranged it. He just used the Suns so that the league won't investigate.

Dallas was also involved. According to TNT.

East Valley Tribune -
Brent Barry will wait out the 30 days and then will stick with San Antonio, the East Valley Tribune is reporting.

According to the report, Barry let Phoenix GM Steve Kerr know of his decision on Thursday evening. The Suns had offered the veteran guard a multi year contract and playing time, but in the end Barry's family already being settled in the San Antonio area was the decisive factor.
