Game tonight: Sac @ Atlanta
Might be the most important of the season... need to win most of these games against sub-.500 teams.

Every home game from here on out is huge. The Hawks can't afford to lose more than about 5 from here on out. A loss vs a team like the Clippers, Sac,NY,or Miami at home is inexcusable at this point. There are only 3 games left on the schedule that I'd be shocked if we won(New Orleans and Boston twice). I honestly can't believe how weak our schedule is to finish the year.

Hopefully that explains the discrepancy between December and Jan/Feb. I've said it before, we could be like GSW of last season except the new guy has to amalgamate quicker.
A combination of Bibby improving the offense and a really easy schedule could kick this team into high gear. When you are winning games, the close ones seem to fall in your favor... when you're losing them, they always go the other way.
We really need Marv to step his game back up to where it had been. If his shot is cold and he can't get to the line, he's worthless on offense but he can still be a quality defender, can't let it get to his head. I think the decline of Marv has been a huge but underappreciated factor in our recent struggles.

Depends on what set we went with. Chil is a better full court player so if we were getting a lot of transition looks (not necessarilly "fast break", just getting a shot before the D is set) then I like Chil in more. If we are in the halfcourt, I think it depends on how Josh and Al are playing because Chil's inability to take a jumper this season has allowed opponents to double inside. Also, when Chil and Smith are on the court at the same time Chil often sets up inside which can lead to more J Smith long jumpers.

I don't think its at all the case that Childress prefers to come off the bench. I seriously doubt there is a player in the league that prefers that. It started because Childress struggled as a rookie when he was put into the starting lineup. BUt that was just a bad hawks team and he needed time to adjust. I think he has just gotten better since then- its not that he prefers to come off of the bench.

Crap, I was going to post a thread about that as kind of a pep talk for us making the playoffs. Ya beat me to it though. Kudos Hoops.

I also think that Childress should start, at least some games. Don't know why Woody wants always him starting on the bench. I don't say he should start every game, but why note trying unless one starter is injured.
Not sure about that, but I think Ginobili doesn't always start on the bench. It should depends on the opponent, and it's possible that the team could get some benefits with Childress energy in the first minutes.

For the first time ever, the other guys have a better game thread. Is gsu out of town?
This is a winnable game. Sacto is a good team but the Hawks should be ready to play for this one. First home game in a while, the guys are probably ready to blow off so steam. Joe is gonna have a tough night ahead of him dealing with Ron Ron on offense and keeping up with Martin on D. Smith and Al should take advantage of a mediocre front court. Hopefully Bibby comes out on fire.
I hope I don't have to work through this one.
Lets go Hawks.
