would have done it to start this season.
would do it now.

it may be the wrong idea. but i want to see how it works for 15-20 games, and we all know it'd be worth the experiment considering there's no possible way anthony carter will be the starting point guard on a championship team.

I want him cut from the team and have his arse sent back to the Europe leagues, because theres to way he's an nba level player.

See, that I don't agree with. Everyone knows AC should not be starting and should be limited to 15 or so minutes per game, but I still beleive he is an nba caliber 2nd or 3rd string PG.

Just like with Earl Boykins, if Karl would have used him properly, he would have been alright. Both are 15 minute players, off the bench to either supply a spark (Boykins) or calm down a reckless offense (AC). Unfortunately, Karl does not understand how to properly utilize these players, and turns a 15mpg player, into a 30+mpg player.

Am I the only one who thinks ac takes at least half as many bad shots as jr?

nope. i get so pissed at any 3 point attempt he takes...particularly one with more than 8 on the shot clock.

i think of it this way...
what's the conversion rate on a 20 foot jump shot from AC?
40%

what's the conversion rate on a 25 foot jump shot from JR?
40%

now imagine both step back 5 feet. their percentages will by all likelihood decrease at the same rate. (AC's percentages from 3 actually drops to 28%...or 18% on his career)

so by my reasoning, any 3 point shot from anthony carter is a worse shot than a 30 foot shot from jr, because it has less of a chance of going in. and any 20 foot shot from AC is a far worse shot than any decent 3 point attempt from jr, because it has the equal chance of going in....but its worth 1 less points. AC shoots 1.6 3's per game. jr does have some wacky shot selection at times....but i don't think he takes 1.6 30 footers a game.

:dontknow:

makes sense to me.

Fatigue is setting into carter, he's a back up good for 10-15 mins a game not 25-30 mins he's getting right now.

Karl needs to figure it out that it's not working anymore because he's no longer hitting his jumpers and is basicly at times taken horrible shots.

I like the idea of jr starting alongside iverson, that was the plan last year and with him in the backcourt with ai it gives us size and also a scoring threat from about anywhere on the court, having ac and marcus not being able to creat their own shots is making life for melo and ai much harder since they can basicly sag off their man and double team these guys.

As long as jr plays within the flow of the team and does a good job scoring and also being a playmaker then i think it will benifit the nuggets, hell it can't be much worser then carter now will it.

I wanted JR starting since the beginning of the season, too bad he's in a bad situation.

I know it's stupid and inaccurate probably but if you stretch out his stats to 37 minutes (starter minutes) JR would get exactly 22.6 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 3.1 assists.

Now compare that to...

Kevin Martin in 37 minutes gets 22.8 points, 4.7 boards and 2.1 assists.

JR's got talent, and could be one of the top SG's in the future...if only Karl gives him some time...

i was agreeing with you.

my point being that anytime AC shoots outside a layup its basically a bad shot.

and in terms of percentages...AC taking any 3 point shot is just as bad as jr taking a "fantasyland" 30 footer.

To me, this next game is crucial in seeing where JR stands. He played an excellent second half against Detroit in terms of playing under control and limiting the bad shots (until the last 6 seconds when he managed to take two). Was it just an anomaly or is he finally starting to show the ability to be a solid contributing player on a playoff/contending team.

The one small thing that can be said for Karl is he is giving JR a healthy heaping of minutes. It's important for JR to stay focused though.
