Are some finally coming around to notice that while he can be exiciting on the offense end, he's an even bigger liability on the defensive end?

Did some not realize that without the so called back-to-back MVP, Dallas reached the NBA Finals?

That perhaps the run and chuck system in the only system Nash can flourish in?

Nash hasn't lost any of skills; he could never play defense and he's still fine in the halfcourt... He had a bad game, it happens.

It was more of a generic statement to the article of him being 'overrated'.

The same way you had people coming out of the cracks questioning Shaq, a season or two ago.

Players who don't play defense shouldn't win the MVP award. Nash winning it twice is a joke. The players and coaches need to vote for the MVP again, the media has made the award a farce.

If Nash could play defense, he'd have serious considerations for G.O.A.T. that said, nothing has changed over the last few years, he is still a very good point guard in the NBA. It's just that other players are starting to step up as well, so relatively...

Nash was the best pg in the league for 3 years, his prime has been way too short to even be considered a top 5 pg all time.

you know how people attach all this tigma in the NFL to being a system QB, well nash is a system PG. not that there is anything wrong with that, but a player tends to do best in a setting designed from the ground-up fro that player and to exploit a single talent. and coincedentally his "prime" years have occurred while he hs been in that system.

he isn't even the best PG of this generation, i give that award to kidd

Man, people have a love affair of Steve Nash because he's an amazing tribute to what you can get done in this league with hard work, intelligence and some sports savvy. Over the past three to four years he has been arguably the best player on any basketball court period.

Granted, he does look like he's lost about a half-step this year, but come on... to say his defense WAY out weighs his offense is flat out ridiculous. Nash works hard on D and does his best out there. He's not very good at it... but even if played like my 4'11 grandmother on defense, his impact on the offensive end would vastly outweigh that deficiency.

The guy has benefited from a fast system and great finishers, no question but he's an excellent fast-break AND half-court playmaker, an excellent decision maker, a precision passer and shooter, and a leader. There have been VERY few players who have ever performed at the level Nash has in any of those areas just mentioned.

Just ask a fan of any team who has struggled against the Suns. In fact, forget that. Ask a Spurs fan if they enjoy cheering against Steve Nash. I bet they hate it. Yes, they do seem to have the Suns number, but that has little to nothing to do with the best point guard in the league tearing them apart with precision passes and cutthroat buckets.

His decline has begun, but he'll be very good for a while still. As Chris Paul and a cast of other take over, Nash will continue to compete with them for years to come.

Although your post seems to be well organized and was a good read, I highly doubt Steve Nash was ever considered the 'best player' on the court. That award would have to go to either Kobe, LeBron... even Shaq, alot of other guys more deserving. All that you mention will be better than Nash on the offensive end and the D end.

i used to ride him as a LAKER fan, but i'll give it to him. hes older now. but a guy that size, took that franchise and did good.
