As Ramsey would say: SHUT IT DOWN!

Post#1 » by amcoolio » Thu Feb 28, 2008 4:59 am

TURN IT OFF! GET OUT OF THE KITCHEN!

Thats what the Bobcats and Vincent needs to do.

The season is over, players are getting beat, and we got routed by the Knicks of all teams!

Its time to shut it down. No Wallace or J-Rich the rest of the season. Give Felton, Dudley and Jamareo major minutes to decide what to do with them. Cut McInnis, Boykins, Hollins, and Harrington and bring in D-league players who want to play.

Its clear the team has revolted against Vincent, and they don't give a damn anymore. But we don't have the balls to fire a coach mideseason, so what are you gonna do?

Time to rest up for next season, and start evaluating for the off-season.

No keep Hollins!

I agree to give the young guys the Start and playing time. The can use the experience until April. Specially if teams are trying to get wins for the Playoffs.

Don't count out the Knicks though. Since Marbury went down they've been really good. Doesn't show in their record but they have a good squad.

Ok fine, keep your Hollins. I'd still rather see much more out of Jamareo than Hollins though.

Hollins is a Center and Davidson is a Power Forward.

I don't think you should shut Jason down. Just take away some of his minutes and give them to the younguns. You shouldn't intentionally rust a player in his prime. With Wallace there is a strong reason to shut him down.

The only way to be SURE that you have a top 4 pick is to have the worst record in the league. I'm not sure that the Cat's have that in them. They always seem to manage to win at least a few games to push themselves into a slightly better spot than they should be in.
My picks:
2020 Draft (3rd pick) - Tyrese Haliburton, Devin Vassell, or Onyeka Okongwu
2021 Draft (11th pick) - Moses Moody

loving the hells kitchen theme... i wish i could hire ramsey to sit on the sidelines and call our players f'ing donuts as they walk to the bench.

too bad the clippers blew the game vs the blazers last night. that would have put them ahead of us. we need seattle and memphis to get hot.

How long until the posters that would prefer to lose to get greater lottery odds start getting told how stupid that strategy is?

The Bobcats think that by winning meaningless games it helps team morale and makes the fans think they will always try until the end.......well I think it stinks. By losing more we could have had Chris Paul.......that would have helped the team morale and fans interests more.

I don't think they will win a lot of games this year at the end......they don't like Vincent and won't play as hard for him as they did with Bernie. Also, we will be on the West Coast a lot bc of the backloaded schedule.

i think we all want the same thing at this point in the season, its just a matter of how its phrased that can cause some friction.

i dont want to blantantly lose games... but i dont want to see us make personel moves that are solely to win now.

1. give wallace rest, dont rush him back
2. play felton at pg to see what he can do
3. keep playing okafor to gauge his value to the team
4. reduce minutes from all starters in favor of giving dudley, davidson and hollins more minutes. we need to see what they can do before we invest in them further.
5. play carroll more over mcinnis and anderson. we need carroll to regain his confidence and at the same time keep his trade value as high as possible.
6. no need to give any more minutes to anderson, mcinnis or harrington. we know what they can do and none will be on the roster next year.

if we do those things i dont see us winning more than 5 games the rest of the season, but at the same time we accomplish our goals of evaulating the roster.

and root like hell for the clippers, knicks, heat, sonics and grizzlies.

I get the strategy. I was one of the bigger proponents of it last year and was reprimanded as a quitter.

Well, I don't know that we'll go on a meaningless winning streak to end this season, because unlike previous teams, this team seems incapable of even beating teams that want to be beaten. We had a coach that motivated his players in the past, and a PG that got the most even when the crappy players were thrown out there. We don't have that anymore, so I don't think we'll be seeing another meaningless end of season winning streak, which is the one thing positive about this team.

That's probably a good thing, since you probably won't see it.

Vincent's job is on the line, and possibly his entire future career as a coach in the NBA. Unless management forces him to do some of those things, or he is guaranteed a job next season so that he has the luxury of doing those things without worrying about job security, I don't see Vincent doing many of those things anyway.

He wants to win. I doubt he cares much about developing players for a team he won't be coaching, and if he doesn't do something to win some games at the end of this season, I don't see him coaching here next year.

true... this team does not have the fight that bernies teams had, so even it we wanted to go on a run, it seems highly unlikely. what i saw last night after jrich left was a bunch of quitters. i surely didnt expect us to win w/out jrich and crash, but i didnt expect to see such uninspired ball.

I can see it now: "Bobcats bring back Vincent, blame failures on injury-ridden season"

Walt..I have a feeling you're ABSOLUTELY correct. Not because they have faith in Vincent as a coach..but because MJ won't want to admit his mistake and fire the coach HE BROUGHT IN himself. Honestly, when the search for a coach began..the first words out of his mouth were finding the next avery Johnson..the next diamond in the rough coach. Then Sams name came up and I knew there was no chance of getting a bigger named head coach. The injury excuse is PERFECT..we tank the rest of the season (even if it's not on purpose..after last night's game..I really don't see us winning more than 5-7 games), get a top 5 pick, get morrison and (I say this with a grain of salt) May back, another year of dudley and Davidson maturity and the transition year of bringing in J-Rich, and MAYBE settling on Felts as our PG.....Of course he's going to pull any excuses possible to bring Vincent back in order to not admit his mistake. You really can't bring in a new guy to coach a bunch of youngsters.
