This trade doesn't get my approval, I for one think A.J is getting fleeced. McGrady was on the cusp of being a late 1st rounder, he could have easily went 1st round. Carter went in the 4th. I don't think anyone will disagree that Mac>Carter by a large margin. And I don't believe Kenyon Martin makes up the difference here.

I agree with Kosta on this.....
Giving up McGrady who was a 2nd round pick, with first round talent, for Carter, who was at the end of the 4th round, and Kmart, who is not really a difference maker in this trade, seems like a bad deal for A.J.
If you would have traded your 2nd round pick for a 4th and 7th round pick before the draft, people would be like WTF are you doing... There is a reason VC was a late 4th round pick, and Tmac was taken where he was.
This trade makes no sense to me at all.

Well Im willing to cancel this trade if AJ wants to, and if you guys think its a bad deal, I'm waiting for a judge, lets see what he thinks and if he has a reason for this...but ya I'll be down for it..don't really mind my team doesn't change all that much either.

ok...we will have to wait if two othe GMs or a jufge will confirm it...if you cant wait for it, you are free to cancel it any time!
...just to tell you why I confirmed the trade: it shouldnt be about preventing everyone and everything to do a trade to get better...the system was implemented to prevent GM's of skrewing others baddy and therefore become superpowers (we all remind tbk getting tim and kobe for nearly nothing...lets call it the "timby-gate")...I dont feel like this is happening here: tmac clearly was no 1st-round material with the season he is playing (ok, the last few games habe been nice if I'm correct) and I feel that vince slipped badly and could have been early 3rd round material if it wasnt for everyone hating on him...kenyon isnt bad value as well and that makes the trade kind of evened out...I agree that the trade favours indiana, but I dont feel like its robbery...if you disagree I'm fine with that and will accept...just wanted to give my insight on how I feel the system should work!
tmac...any news on our deal-idea?

A bit leery on the other trade too...the gap between Rondo and Kidd is getting smaller....while Duncan completely craps over Dirk....
Hmm...
Personally I agree with both trades (judges war!

While as to second trade, I feel like taking VC 2 rounds later than McGrady is simply unjustified: there should be at most 1 round separation between them, if at all. Compare their play this season: the first is basically 21/5/6 guy, while the latter... 21/6/5 player, also being less injury-prone and shooting in a more efficient way! You may argue superior Rockets record then - that T-Mac sacrifies his stats for a good of the team - but if Rockets have been successful up to this point for the price of becoming predominantly Yao's team, the lesser credit goes to McGrady, right? And I see no convincing arguments why Carter couldn't be similarly successful playing second fiddle to Ming. On the other hand, K-Mart is quite useful this season, while 12th pick has almost no bearing anyway. Hence - while if I had to choose best player in this trade, I'd still go with the Big Sleep - I reckon the trade entirely acceptable.
I'd also like to remark that trades here aren't supposed to be 100% equal - otherwise, why to make such vertical moves at all? - but are to be within acceptable limits, also taking into account different visions and needs while building a team. Example: if I somehow traded Josh Howard for Iverson during the preceding league, I'm sure it would make my Sixers not better, but worse - though you all could and prolly would argue vetoing it due to talent difference in favor of my opponent!
So - while I've got mixed feelings about trading in such leagues - if trades are allowed, IMHO we shouldn't be too strict in blocking them.

I'm not quite sure if I follow you: as it looks like there are some loopholes in the rules, what solution do you propose to decide this? If majority of judges decides "yes" or "no", can GMs overrule them? It would be a bit strange. Or do you want to give equal weight to GMs votes and judges votes and count them combined? Anyway, it would be good to set some deadline for people wanting to vote on recent trades; if someone's late, too bad for him - but we must decide soon.

I agree with you that the confirmances shouldnt be too strict...its just about prventing a second dunby-gate.
at first my thought was: one judge should be enough to prevent people from going nuts...but I wanted to have a second way in case judges arent following all the time (especially if someone wants to know if the trade goes through emidiately and none of the 5 judges is online at that time).
right now I want a way of knowing: ok, the trade is finaly declined and I have to move on...but with 16GM's its difficult, coz if 13have declined, there is still a chance for it to go through
...that lead me to the following rules:
ONE judge is enough for a trade to be confirmed!!!
->if all 5 judges vetoed the trade, it officially failed!
that said: if you want to confirm both of the trades its ok (plz do it again if you are sure)...I dont want to have a big voting for every trade, just some ensurance the trade isnt like: "hey I gave up on the draft so I at least want to go out with a big bang, sening all my stars to another team to for nothing!"
I dont like both trades for one of the participating teams but its not like one team is run over!
to make it a little bit easier, it would be a good idea if you posted not only who is traded but also why you think, its the best for your team! (its no rule, just a tip how you make a trade go down)

btw.: speaking of trades:
after round 12th there will be about 3 days of trading/waiving and sighning (and dare you if you missuse the waiving/sighning to get vetoed trade through buy doing it the stackhouse-way!!!)...then we will have about 3 days where textes can be handed in and then the first round will start!
(I didnt want to stretch it too long, in order to finsh the thing within the next 3 weeks (I personally have to leave 3/19))
a more detailed schedule will be posted tomorrow

Im a little hesitant since that is the rookie round but I will post indianas pick in the next few minutes.....his time has passed bye! maybe j-ragg should have left a list
(I dont feel this round is much more importand than the 10th as all those players are young and unproofen and we are talking about the playoffs)

Wait, I was talking with Orlando GM and he told me who he wanted, though not officially, but there's a reason why he left a spot at backup C open. I'll pick for him in a second.
And OMG, I'm so sorry Vintage our conversation was cut off, my computer shut down and I was already going to sleep so I decided to tell you here and by email. That was real bad on my part, my fault.
