Hey guys. I'm just a basketball fan, but the Suns are on TV a lot so I watch them. I had an opinion on the Suns and I just wanted to see if you guys think the same thing in Suns' nation or not.
When everyone looks at the Suns, they always say they need help in the front court, front court. That is all you hear. But watching them, I've always thought that their biggest need was a 2 guard who can both drive inside and shoot consistently from the outside. Like a Michael Redd type would IMO be absolutely perfect on your team.
I've seen Raja Bell bell hot some nights, off the others. Diaw isn't really a great mid-ranged shooter. Barbosa can hit a shot sometimes, but not consistently enough.
I think you guys just need a stud 2 guard somewhere who can both drive and shoot from the outside consistently. Like a Michael Redd/Ray Allen. A player like that.
Do you Suns fans agree with this at all or no? Not a criticism, just an observation. I always enjoy watching the Suns play. They are a treat.

Suns could use a lot of things. As you mentioned a 2 guard that can spread the floor. Although I think the Suns need a guard who can do a little but of everything, like Pierce or Joe Johnson. They can both rebound and are tough defenders, Pierce would be a threat attacking the a basket, and JJ knows how to distribute the ball.
The second thing would be a mobile center that can run the floor. Like a KG or healthy JO who can get back in transition really quick. Dr. Swat would probably work too.

A top-level SG/SF scorer has definitely been one of the Suns needs since Joe Johnson left.
But just as much, is a significant defensive big man to protect the paint. Kurt Thomas didn't really fit this, because he isn't enough of a shot-alterer to be the main defensive big man (let alone the only defensive big man on the team, where depth issues came into play). As was seen (and known generally), Kurt's strength is other areas of defense, rather than changing shots around the basket and blocking shots.
A JO, Haywood, Dalembert, Okafor, Diop (yeah, weak offensively, but a stand-out defender), Zo (of the last couple years), Dampier, Chandler kind of big man is what's needed.
Shaq's a presence, but has been a limited defender for a little while now, and now only is going to be in a lesser role compared to last season (minutes-wise). While getting older.

i never thought about it...Zo would be perfect with the Suns

No...Barbosa is the one Sun who the Lakers cannot account for. Marion, in the playoffs, is an entirely different player for some reason. Although you probably are just remembering game 6 rebound and the Tim Thomas kick out. I don't blame you.
