someone on the first page wrote that darius miles is a productive player....hahahahahahahahahahahaahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha...darius's contract was the worst idea blazer management has ever had, he is a horrible player, a cancer to the team and he is a lazy halfass worker, i hate darius miles and im still waiting for the blazers to release him.

as for other contracts i would throw Z-bo in there as well becuz he may put up decent numbers but to get those numbers the ball must go in the black hole and never come out! and he has proven that he cant win games and doesnt really look like he cares whether or not he wins or loses he is more worried about puttin up numbers to he can make the cash, kind of like erick dampier, play great in a contract year, get the big contract over the summer and than play like crap for a few years till its time to get that new contract.

Damaging? I'm not gonna count Shard just yet because I can't see into the future and to see what happens there.

I'm bringing down to Wallace and Hughes.

Wallace' contract is terrible for the production, but his contract didn't prevent Pax from making a move for Kobe/Pau/KG.

Thats why I'm going with Hughes. Cleveland had to make a move for a second start but absolutely couldn't because they had all that money tied up in one of the worst starters in the entire league. Now they've made that big trade and took on someone elses problem, so we'll see how it turns out.

Imagine they hadn't gotten Hughes and had enough money to lure Billups away from the Pistons in FA.

Nene made the market value for mediocre big men skyrocket

the guy got a ridiculous contract, and after that every semi-serviceable bigman wanted nene money

Darius Miles is the worst contract (productive haha, you're not going to live that down).

But I'd say Hughes or Wallace.

the Hughes contract has prevented them from acquiring an impact player next to Lebron, until now, now they have Ben Wallace.

Those types of big men contracts started before Nene. I know there are other examples but Dalembert is the first to come to mind.

And it's been argued to death but when you consider the incentives and injury clauses, his contract really isn't that bad.

Finally, Nene isn't done yet. Lance Armstrong came back from essentially the same thing. Rumors are that he'll be back in March.

I would have to go with Brian Cardinal.
All of the other 'really big' contracts; are either on teams where their contract isn't really hurting them because of all the other bad contracts; or they are at least giving some production.

I mean the Grizzlies signed him to a 7 year deal. I mean without knowing the other half of the equation, the amount, it is still horrible. Even if they were only paying him 2 hot pockets per season; 7 years is asinine.
And the amount was, what, around 45-50 million. Come on...

Now out of 5 years...

And despite the championship, asterisk or not, I do think Shaq is worthy of consideration.

Especially when you consider the amount, the shape Miami is in and how Phoenix continues to struggle.

Oh yeah, even with Shaq, Amare continues to get lit up like Steve Nash.

Actually I think the championship was worth all the hell they are going through now.

I think Grant Hill's contract has damaged the Magics quite a lot.

The Nuggets two headed PF monster is the worst in the league, they are making around 30 million give or take and niether of them can ever stay healthy. Its a damn shame because Camby/Martin/Nene/Najera would be the best 4 and 5 depth in the league if those two could survive a game without getting hurt.
