Michael Wilbon isn't quite an NBA expert either. If he was, then he wouldn't of picked Phoenix this year and I think last season, too, to win the championship.
How are you an expert, when you pick a team to win the title that doesn't defend, lacks depth, and lacks offensive diversity? Considering the requirements and historical evidence with contending and title teams. Some would say I'm hating on the Suns - but this isn't (and hasn't been) hating, when there is the realization of what's there involved. With the make-up of a team. It is, has been the situation of Phoenix's team and what's holding them back to going farther and to the top.
Kenny Smith picked Phoenix in November, too. But I think this is an abberation for him, and since then I'd say he realizes that pick lacks/ed legitimacy. Especially with what has changed from early November to right now in the whole league. Especially the western conference. I don't know why he did it in the first place, though. Whereas with Wilbon it's been evident he still likes Phoenix to get it done.

Not really...
But when I said "thats how experts look at it"... it was merely pointing out that nothing said was definitive, its was in context.. and opinions where not forced as facts.
And you dissin my post... "atrocious form"..
why change subjects?
why?
you don't like this form.... ??
... Its a forum... a free forum... its the internet... not a "show me your thesis writing skills competition"....
Oh by the way some countries/universities spell thesis "theses"
so there, just in case you pick on the spelling...
Again.. what was your point???
I had a point... my point didnt attack players and pushed opinions as facts.. most of the things I posted were in context... nothing definitive.
Are you an expert?
Are you a forum posts style expert?
No?
Really?
Just some person who didnt like what I posted because you agreed with some of the shallow and definitive analysis of some posters here?
Oh.. Thats right!... you didnt even answer the thread question...
And again, How's my post form now?
How was dinner last night? Salty?
How was breakfast?.... didnt like it?
Where's your input in the thread?

 Good job guy!
To be fair though, scouts do use a lot of +/- minus stuff because it is better than the moronic:
Nash is a better shooter, Kidd is a better defender, they are tied on assists, and Kidd is a better rebounder so Kidd is better
crap that goes on in the world of Realgm.
Yes, most of the best players had significant impacts on both sides of the floor. That being said, more than any other Phoenix player, the Suns are positively effected by Nash's presence and negatively by his absence. They are a perrenially elite team. Lets use simple logic here:
+/- and roland rating take into account the positive and negative contributions of a player on both sides of the floor.
Since coming to Phoenix, Steve Nash has led his team in +/- and roland rating and had one of the highest rankings inthe league by these measurements.
Since Nash has been in Phoenix, they have been a truly elite team, but they weren't elite before he got there.
From this we can easily conclude that Phoenix' ability to be an elite team relied heavily on Steve Nash. His defense is either a) not as bad as everyone makes it out to be or b) is bad but his impact on offense is SO great that it doesn't matter.
Regarding Nash being a "system" player. There aren't many other players with his skill set that you could just "plug in" and have them run the system. If the "system" allows a team to win 60 games than everyone should do it.

Sure he is getting older but he is also getting smarter plus the man can still get off at any given moment...yet people want to rave about how bad his defense is but people dont seem to realize how good he is offensivly...i mean people don't give the Suns credit period, you guys want to jump all over them when they lose against LA and Detroit but whenever they did beat a team like Boston everyone wanted to forget about it as if it didnt even happen or sumthing. If LA or Dallas were to beat a team like Boston or Detroit people would've start goin crazy and started jumping on bandwagons and crediting them as the early favorites for championship

Instead of attacking Nash.......
Maybe CP3 is that good??
Theres a better than 50/50 chance that CP3 is a top 5 or maybe top 3 PG of alltime.
Im not one to prop up todays players but CP3 in his prime could very well be on par with Magic, Stockton, Isiah. Hes a better scorer than Stockton already and his passing is pretty Isiahesque. Yeah I can see Paul as the best PG in the NBA for the next 10 yrs.
