Is Dwight Howard a franchise player?
I was watching 1st and 10 and one of the topics was D12 they were asking if D12 will ever lead us to a championship. there response was that he is not a franchise player yet. he is a MAX player. they said that he needs to be Mr. 4th quarter not hedo, and that he is too goofy and not a leader yet. do you guys agree. i do and dont in some aspects.
i agree that he needs to be more of a Mr. 4th quarter and more vocal but that will come with maturity, but I like that hes goofy. hes a fun guy who genuinely loves basketball. and im sorry but he is definately a franchise player.

HES 22!! what do they want out of the kid .... dwight changes the game more than anyone on any team in the leauge... the second dwight steps on the floor the defenses change and boxing out responsibilites change... dwight is a franchise player... he might not be fully taking the reins yet but he still is like 2-3 years from being in his absolute prime.... dwight makes the game so easy for our other players... look what happens to our team when hes on the bench....

the thing that i thought was most amazing was that they said they didnt know if he is a player that you can build around just yet ? first off its skip and jemele and sometimes i wonder how they are allowed to give such ridiculous opinions, but anyway he is apart of the magic and remember guys no one thinks were good but us.
have you noticed that every time they mention the east they say the east is weak except for Boston and Detroit.
yeah i can see why they say we are an average team, oh wait we beat Detroit twice, we beat the Celtics twice, and we are thirteen games above .500, and we are 21-12 on the road, why dont they consider us a top tier team again?
man i cant wait until we win our first championship so i can yell at the top of my lungs I TOLD YOU F&3*KERS SOOOOO! TO ALL THE HATERS.

You really really need to calm down man.
It's pretty evident that Magic aren't as good as those Detroit and Boston Teams. We can't compete against them unless we play some defense, get a superstar gaurd, and some size inside. And our Road Record, i don't know if you have noticed, but our Road recored after that great 13-2 start on the road has been below average. It's like 9-11 on the road. We've picked up the slack at home recently, and it's evened out pretty much.

Dwight is a franchise player (right now)!
But...
He just doesn't seem to have the killer instinct that guys like Kobe, MJ, D-Wade, (and yes Lebron) get in the 4th quarter.
Is it just me or does it seem Dwight scores most (if not all) of his points in the first half and a few in the 3rd quarter?
Does anyone have the stats to refute this? (Dwight's average stats per quarter.)
I know that he gives more to the team than just scoring (rebounds, defense, drawing double teams, etc.) But the aforementioned guys also got double and triple teamed in the fourth but still produced points for there team when they needed them.

The players you mentioned all have the ball in their hands 75% of the time. Dwight is dependent on people getting him the rock in scoring position, and as last night's game vs. Philly proved, that is easier said than done at times. Having said that, anyone who beliefs that Dwight Howard is not a already a franchise player is on crack. He's franchise, with plenty of room to grow!
