Young did a good job defensively in the last game against the Bobcats. He even had a block or two and did a good job in his defensive rotations. He also pulled down 5 rebounds coming off the bench

He played pretty good defense when he was on Paul in the first half.

i like him. He has some bulking up to do, but he looks like a really promising young player. He can only progress from here.

from his blog, gil is really keen on this kid and i guess i'll take his word for it. i personally can see flashes of it; his athleticism, his confidence to pull the trigger on a pull up jumper, and when he drives to the hole. it's not there yet though, so who knows?

Since the all star break, Nick Young is shooting over 50% and his rebounding numbers have gone up. However, in the same timespan, he has not recorded a single assist.

I tremble at the thought of a Gilbert Arenas / Nick Young backcourt. I suspect the other 11 Wizards on the roster may feel the same way.

thats another reason I'm keen on Nick yizzle. I can see gil taking him under his wing and giving him direction, the same way Kobe did to the lakers kids. Also after spending time on the court together, and offseasons i feel he will improve. Hes always been a good percentage shooter and I think that will allow him to shoot at higher volumes. Gil has made guards better and he believes in this kid. So does caron. I believe in him too. He's already beginning to nab rebounds here and there, block shots etc. The assist aspect of it, we always get assists out of the SF spot like a point forward and the point guard spot. jamison, wood etc all have low assist numbers, its a product of the offense and isolated attacks.

Agreed.

For the foreseeable future, I'm happy with an Arenas/Stevenson starting rotation, and Daniels/Young as backups.

AD is not that much of a better passer than Arenas. Plus I'm looking forward to a healthy Arenas coming back so he can spread the floor out and create opportunities with good spacing.

As for Young, if he keeps shooting a high percentage like that, I don't mind if his assist numbers are low especially since Arenas, Butler, and Jamison can all create their own offense.

But he hasn't shot a high percentage, and he hasn't drawn many fouls for someone who shoots so often - so he hasn't been a particularly efficient scorer - so far.

Agreed. He needs to work on his ball handling and get stronger, but I like his game for the future. He has already showed more than Jarvis ever did, although that isn't saying much.

I was referring to when how Young has been playing since the all star break where he shot over 50% and his rebounding numbers have become respectable. Even though that is a small sample size, he has been performing efficiently in that span. Of course, I would prefer if he averaged more assists than turnovers.

EJ should start limiting AD's minutes. Mason and Young have played relatively well together. With the injury bug, get DMAC and Young as much MPG as possible.

Young's streak without an assist ends at 7 games. Young did not shoot well (2-6 from the field) but had 6 rebounds, all in the 1st half of play.

Hes grabbed 5 or more rebounds in 2 out of the last 3 games.

He has skills and he seems coachable unlike JR Smith and Gerald Green.

Nick Young is at times very Kobe-esque- probably from playing in Cali. He hits those turnaround jumpers that shouldn't go in, but makes it look easy.

N1 is the next Kobe. You heard it here.
