My dad had lunch with glen taylor today and taylor said he was gonna buy-out Theo Ratliff and Theo's gonna give back 1.2 million of his contract to Taylor. After Theo's bought out he's gonna sign with Detroit as a free-agent.

Sounds like a good idea. You're dad must be filthy rich.

It doesn't really matter whether we let him expire or buy him out. I doubt he'd be back here next year. Gives younger guys some playing time, maybe gets Walker enough to appease him, and saves Taylor money.
"A while back,'' Cardinal said, "I took a picture of the standings and texted it to Love, just to bust his chops,'' Cardinal said. "He sent me a picture back of a snowdrift.''

if theo can stay healthy for detroit they will be a VERY dangerous team in the playoffs. If this is true then good luck theo and it was nice having you here in minnesota.

Why didn't we try and trade him for a young big man...seems like a waste to save a mill or two.

Seems like we're inventing a new way to tank a season. Just buy out all your good players!

I guess that means more time for the ultra-small lineups like the Jaric-Shad-Snyder-Gomes-Smith that gave away the 2nd quarter last night. Probably more time for Richard also, to which I am neutral. I wonder if there are any D-League 7 footers worthy of getting some burn.

Thanks for posting Herculi

With $1.2 mil and a roster spot, we could give some 10-day contracts out as auditions, like the Clippers did with Nick Fazekas. Maybe we take a look at Mavro? What's Jackie Butler look like? MNWI, you got any suggestions?

I already know who the Wolves plan on auditioning. Not allowed to say anything because I've been working with a member of the Wolves front office on it.

Well for example, we could take on another year of a contract and get a borderline decent big man for taking on that extra money. Or we could trade Jaric and Ratliff for a decent big man. I know it would take some wheeling and dealing, but I just think it is unlikely that this was the best option. We might have had to give up some money to get a good big man, but I think it would be worth it don't you?

Who exactly do you think we can get? Teams don't trade good young big men for expiring contracts.

What if we could get an Amir Johnson, and some tiny larger contracts for Ratliff. I'd do that in a second.
