1) The Raptors had one of the hardest schedules prior to the all-star break, only now is their schedule getting easier.

2) They had a bunch of injuries. Garbajosa gone for the year, Bosh missed some games, and Ford missed a ton of games.

3) Bargnani playing horrible basketball for most of the season when he was expected to improve.

4) Terrible coaching by Sam Mitchell.

5) The supporting cast is deep....with mediocre players. Guys like Parker, Delfino, Moon, Humphries, and Rasho are solid players and deserve playing time but they are not anywhere near the best at their positions. The only two positions where the Raps get great play from is PF (Bosh) and PG (Calderon and Ford).

That being said Calderon still shouldn't be an all-star IMO, and I like Calderon just as much as Ford.

lol @ this thread.

Yeah I'de say Kidds fg% is disgustingly low for an all star. Bargnani's reboudning #'s are astonishingly low for a 7 footer.

I don't think Jose should have been a n allstar this year because he didn't play a lot of minutes. Had he started all year, and been averaging more then 30 mpg when they picked then yes.

1. Wizards had 2 allstars with a worse record so I don't see your point.

2. Last year Raptor fans brought up how deep we were. This year nobody's said anything about that since Ford's been out, Mo Petersons gone, and Garbajosa's been out. Last year we had Calderon coming off the bench at PG, Mo Pete coming off the bench, and Bargnani coming off the bench. This year in that place we have had Derrick Martin/Juan Dixong coming off the bench at PG, and a revolving unit of mig man in Brezec, Rasho, and Humphries.

Did I really just read someone saying Calderon is "Stockton-esque?" Give me a break. What does he average, 12 and 8? Stockton was a CAREER 13/11 player, not to mention the all time steals leader and having 5 straight seasons of 13+ assists. Every point guard in the league should average 8 assists, that is nothing special.

Wow you Raptors fans are hilarious. Calderon is a pretty good player but isn't going to be hot like this forever -- truly great PGs will their teams to victory and the Raptors still suck.

In 42 games as a starter, Calderon averaged 14 and 9,6 in 36 minutes while shooting .539 from the floor, .463 from the 3pt line and .916. from the FT line. These are damn good numbers imo. I'm not saying he's an all-star snubee or sth but he's really undervalued by some... and overrated by some of course.

His defense is weak and this is the most important reason why he'll never get compared to Stockton. And while it's true that he benefits from the shooters in his team, shooters also benefit from him. Almost all the 3pt shooters in the Raptors' roster have improved their 3pt shooting over last year.

Lastly, the Raptors do not suck at all. Look for 'em to win between 45-50, which is hardly "sucking".

One Raptor fan says something you don't care to hear and suddenly the thread has been "ruined by Raptor fans"?

Cheers man, very respectable thing to say.

Um...I'm pretty sure Free Throw % doesn't carry a whole lot of weight in All-Star participation.

Anyway, if you check out the Bulls board, they had a pretty good thread detailing the atrocious levels statwise to which Ben Wallace sank this year.

Balkman's FT% of 41.4

or his 3 point shooting percentage of 9%

Jerome James FG% 100
FT% 100

TS% 106.4%

PER 46.39

Jerome James is clearly the best player in the NBA

Not saying whether or not Calderon should have been an All Star, but the Raptors are in the bottom half when it comes to strength of schedule (below average tough schedule) up until this point.

The Raptors schedule must have been really, really weak post all star if they had one of the toughest coming into the break. Pretty sure they were about average in SoS at the break.

Jason Kapono 3PA/3PM: 50/99.
Carlos Delfino 3PA/3PM: 97/228

Why the hell is Delfino shooting A LOT more than Kapono?!

Woops, didn't meant to double post the free throw line. The first line was supposed to read "#1 in the NBA in assist to turn-over ratio"

Bruce Bowen is averaging 2.7 rebounds per game, and he is a SF.
Josh Boone is *JUST* over 40% on FTs.
Of course, the GOAT is Jason Collins: 1.6 ppg / 2.1 rpg / 0.5 apg. How do you just end up with 1.6 ppg if you play with JASON KIDD? You must be avoiding the ball at all costs!!
