Postgame: Bucks @ Nets

Post#1 » by LUKE23 » Fri Feb 29, 2008 2:45 am

Nets will likely score their season high with Harris playing his first game with the team.

Bucks had one small good stretch, then got happy with themselves and came out thinking they could just show up and win. Sadly, they forgot they are a 30 win team max.

6th seed?

I didn't see any of the game, i'm watching the Badgers. Looking at the box score, it looks like the Bucks stellar defense was in full effect tonight.

Zero defense. High-offense backcourt will rarely be enough to make up for defensive liabilities all over the floor.

The minute the Badger game was on the Bucks game went off. Badgers are so much more entertaining, actually play D, and actually play as a team.

Oh, and they actually have a good coach.

Redd, Mo, and Bogut played well for what they are.

Dez, CV, and the bench are our xfactors. They were not existent.

And of course defense was normal and Nets got hot to extend the difference.

I wouldn't have guessed that if we finished shooting the same percentage as them and Harris went 1-7 after his start that we'd still be 14 away at the end. Beside turnovers, the bench looked like the huge difference.

Nice to see Bogut shoot such a high percentage again, 22-15 is nice.

Solid game by Bogut but another road turd laid.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

We basically lost this game because New Jersey played better defence than we did, nothing more really. Each team shot exactly the same percentage and we won the rebounding battle, but NJ was able to force more turnovers.

Like we expected, the Nets did not shoot 67% throughout the game but we weren't able to start strong in the 4th when we were down by only 6 and the game was on the line. Bogut played well but he allowed a lot of offensive rebs and easy scores on his face. Yi didn't help a lot(he didn't help AT ALL). CV & Dez were pathetic.

If the bench player who played better is Ruffin, that means that you are talking about a loss.

15 turnovers isn't all that bad. It was more that we couldn't force the Nets into many (8).

Half of the Buck's shots were taken by just 2 players - no guesses as to who they are.

But that wasn't the problem. Giving up 18 off turnovers, not boxing out and allowing ORs that immediately led to dunks, watching Harris and others penetrate at will, giving up 25 on bust-outs, not covering long-range shooters, switching on D to create ridiculous mismatches, etc.

We had the **** full package in how not to play defence!
Luckily, for the revenue department of the government, speed doesn't kill.

Right. That was one key.

But I think their 18 offensive rebounds and their fastbreak points (so our transition defense) killed us.

We played no defense and thus our guards thought that since we were down that they had to shoot us back into the game. I didn't watch the game, but that's how it sounds. Same old Bucks basketball, whatever.

But they shot 50%. You can blame them only for the combined 15-for-23 FT shooting.

Oh why don't we have a guy like Brandon Bass coming off the bench? He's playing an amazing game.
