Phil Jackson isn't leaving LA. He's gone Hollywood. Why else would he go back to coaching Kobe?

You know who would be good from the lakers though.. Kurt Rambis. He's been Phil jackson's padawan learner for many years now,.. he's even starting to look like him.. maybe he's absorbed a lot of the Zen stuff.. but he knows how to play a running game from playing on the Lakers. And Phil is supposed to be a great defensive coach so maybe he picked that up too. He could even try the triangle.. maybe Dirk would rock it..

^^ with dirk's shooting and passing, he'd surely fit the triangle...

I agree about dirk and the triangle.. I think that's why Phil was pushing LA to make that Kobe for Dirk trade. Phil would get the refs to give him those calls Dirk never gets, too.

Maybe Avery is smarter than we think.. A very probably knows he's on thin ice. But if you notice Avery has filled his coachinG staff with guys who have his back... by playing stack and Terry maybe he thinks these guys and the other players he kisses butt will protect him too. So it's like Dirk and Kidd against avery and all Avery's homeboys...

Avery is so dug in like a tick Cuban would have to fire the whole coaching staff and Avery's homeboys on the team.

I din't know.. trying to figure out how Avery's mind works is a terrifying task..

great coaches make mistakes, true.. but they also find a way to correct those mistakes in a couple of games.. avery has made mitakes ater mistakes since 2006 and has not learned from them until today..

yes, great coaches make mistakes, then again, avery isnt a "great coach" to start with...

When Terry got his sh*t stuffed by Bowen on that last play, we had Stackhosue wide open in the corner.

I put my money on it that Kidd would have found the open man and passed out of that drive. That's why Kidd is a hof pg and Terry is...Terry.

But Avery wanted to spread the floor, well you need a playmaker to find the shooters don't you?

AVERY JOHNSON IS THE BIGGEST PROBLEM WITH THIS TEAM.
-You trade for a closer and yet you don't play in him in a BIG game when we could have still won
-You go **** with Terry for double techinicals over a meaningless foul to give them back the momentum and kill our 10 point lead

Avery constantly tries to "outsmart" everyone, only to have it blow up in his face.

Look at GS: who changed our 67 win lineup to try to small ball against the Warriors? Avery

I truly wish I could have heard Dirk and Kidd's thoughts when Avery said Kidd was not going to be on the floor at the end of the game.. Dirk is like the most loyal guy you can possibly imagine.. but when he heard that the thoughts in his head about Avery must have been pure comedy..

I am honestly surprised the guys on the team even listened to Avery.

If we had lost to a buzzer beater, I'll live with that.

I'm just really confused to the fact why when we had MULTIPLE chances to close the game, we didn't have OUR BEST PG in the GAME. HAHAHAHAHA, go ask the 29 other coaches in the NBA: who do you want making a play in the cruch? Kidd (who despite not shooting well can execute) or Terry (who was 2-10 in the game)?

As long as Avery leads this team, we're not going anywhere.

Stackhouse, Terry, and Howard can never do wrong in Avery's eyes.

Dirk and the pg (whether it be Devin or Kidd) will always have the burden of carrying this team b/c of our idiot coach.

The Mavs and Avery are getting killed on TNT for sitting Kidd, rightfully so.

"You gave up 6 players for him and three million dollars in cash"

"Avery made a mistake"

Charles Barkley

On the last play with Jason Terry forcing up a shot "There's two other players open" and that Jason Kidd would have got them the ball (or words to that effect).

Kenny Smith

I might add I think Avery sucked in the finals against Miami and in the playoffs against the Warriors.
Tre Johnson is the future of the Wizards.

Return to Dallas Mavericks
