AVERY=IDIOT. The discussion can end right there. He's a control freak who doesn't maximize his players or let them just play the game.

As long as Avery keeps pulling this ****, Mavs will fail again. His inepititude was widely displayed in the playoffs, but he liked to push all the blame on to Dirk namely.

Tonight just confirmed all my thoughts about Avery since Miami in 2006.

has avery actually ever shown that he is a great coach?
seriously??! I dont think so.
I mean he is great motivator and that's it IMHO
what adjustments did he make in the finals two years ago? none
what did he do in last years playoffs? nottin
I bet that even I can get to the playoffs with this team. that's not too difficult a job considering we have two future hall of famers on the floor. what makes a coach special is his in-game-adjustment and avery has shown NO signs so far that he is capable of doing anything in that department. I'm really upset and tonight was just unbelievable.

He is vastly over-rated because of his winning %. A % that is mostly due to thge talent we HAD on the floor.

the longer I think about it, the more angry I get. How the holy F is this possible? what in the world was avery thinking? this man is totalyy nuts. it's sad that we dont have enough time to bring in a new coach for the rest of the season but I really dont see avery coaching this team beyond this season. I would be all over the idea replacing him already this season if the new guy was already on the team. I'm thinking westphal or even donnie
I just cant stand avery anymore and he really ruined the locker room with this boneheaded move.

I don't believe someone can be this stupid.. I wonder if there is some massive fued going on behind the scenes.. like 2 different camps. Dirk, Cuban and Kidd vs Avery, Terry, Stack.. etc. etc..

well I dont know about that but this game certainly did no good to this team.
I wonder what dirk and kidd are thinking. they may have lost all their respect and faith in avery. that's just sad considering that they only have a 2 year window. fire avery. hell, I want donnie

To me, its clear that Avery has "favorites" (players he rarely criticizes and seem to have free reign to do whatever): Stackhouse, Terry, and at times Josh Howard.

Those that bear the brunt of Avery's "coaching" and are often asked to change their game and not play on their strengths: Dirk, Devin and perhaps Kidd if Avery keeps going to his isolation heavy offense.

Avery has been exposed in the playoffs and he has never taken the blame publicly, instead letting it dump all on Dirk. What a chump.

Tonight just showed me that Avery is a complete control freak who tries to outsmart people only to have it blow up in his face.

I dont' know what made me more upset: Avery benching Kidd or Avery going **** with Terry over a meaningless foul to get double technicals and give up our momentum and 10 point lead.
That was unclassy, whiny and the opposite of keeping your cool.

I would take Donnie too. I would take ANYONE over Avery.

One thing that's interesting though.. it's interesting Avery would pull this stunt today and just ysterday there was some article where Dirk's coach in Germany was trashing Avery.. I find the timing weird..

yeah, but that interview is like 3 weeks old. dirk is too loyal to say anything against the coach but you could guess that they are no close friends.

dirk's a good soldier... avery told him to be like duncan, and he tried.. avery told him to develop a post game and stop shooting 3's, he very well obliged...

in what other team would you see the star player take that much crap from the coach? heck if avery did that to kobe, he'd be out of the team right now...

I think donnie would supply this team with new energy, a fresh start and given that it's already march (well almost) he would be a nice fit considering that he knows everybody on this team inside out.
and I bet our two future hall of famers would welcome it.
Im still wondering what dirk and jkidd are thinking about avery...

Dirk said "ask the coach about that" when asked why Kidd was sitting on the bench. (from DMN)

Doesn't seem like he supported that.
Dirk looks like a different man playing with Kidd than he does with our pretend pg Terry.

that's very true!
after three years watching avery crippling dirks talents (and d harris' as well) I just hope that a change is coming.
watch what dirk is able to do when he can do his thing, just being dirk (look what he does with the german national team... took them to win the silver medal at the european championship despite having NO OTHER player who could seriously contribute)!

that's as far as he would go critizising the coach I guess. he is just a loyal guy but I'm pretty sure that avery has lost him

the thing thats really sad is that dirk looked like he had fun playing these past few games. first time I have seen him like that for a looooong time. he is really happy to have kidd on his team and it seems that they start building a nice relationship together.
but then avery steps in and he possibly destroyed this team with such a moronic move.

That's not the 1st time Holger Geschwinder has criticized Avery.

somebody please write a letter to mark cuban... im all for mike krzyzsewki as avery's replacement.. even if it means breaking the bank.. heck, cuban could afford paying kidd, giving him an extension and buying a baseball team.. he sure as hell could afford coach K's price tag...
