MELO4MVP wrote:why is that?
For a couple of reasons.
For one, with the firegeorgekarl thing I realized that cross-posting can get out of hand pretty fast. Once it hits the mainstream media a big can of worms can be opened and I'm not sure if I'm comfortable being the person who started that.
Second, Estratt surely understands that when you post stuff on the internet it can be spread anywhere. But when I saw the firegeorgekarl stuff I realized that it's also kind of uncool to be the person spreading it without their permission. As I explained to corona, my intentions were benign. But now I can see how the practice can also be malicious- and IMO the firegeorgekarl people are. I'm generally a pretty nice person and wouldn't want to be thrown in the same bucket as those clowns.
I liken it to being paparazzi. It's fine to take someone's picture if you have permission, but to take a picture without permission and spread it around kind of infringes on their normal life. Sometimes people just want to talk and live without their words/actions becoming blown up in the media. And unfortunately there are dickheads out there who use information the wrong way.
I was trying to use it the right way, but if it comes down to withholding it vs. being percieved as a firegeorgekarl kind of idiot, I prefer to keep it to myself.

You do realise that most of those quotes weren't even posted on realgm. So how could you think they have anything to do with you? If these guys want the inside information, they'll go straight to NuggetsTalk (as they obviously did), not stop by realgm looking for it. NuggetsTalk is a public forum even though you need to register for it. Once it's out there, it's in the public and is fair game for anyone.
As for the firegeorgekarl people, how are they malicious? They've based their opinions on well researched facts. Can they not have opinions on those facts? And how is what they're doing any different than any other blog or stuff that people post even on this board?
You're trying to link posting Eric's stuff here with a bunch of stuff/people it has nothing to do with. But if you don't want to post it anymore don't, I'm pretty sure everyone here has figured out where to find it now anyways.

Ummm...yeah, they were, by me. In fact I posted more of them than firegeorge does. But corona quickly censored them. Mind you, I don't agree with the censorship, I'm just saying that later I realized how the action could be misconstrued or the information misused.

Maybe malicious is a strong word, but when you dedicate so much of your free time to such a negative endeavor, you're a ****. Who in their right mind actively and publicly campaigns to get someone fired from their job? If he were a child molestor or embezzler I can see it. But a basketball coach? Whether you like Karl's work, or think you dislike him as a person, whatnot, that's just a classless and negative thing to do.
Also put yourself in Estratt's shoes. Who knows if he even works for the Nugs. But maybe he works directly for Karl. Maybe he is friends with Karl. How would you like it if some anonymous stuff you wrote, taken from context and arguably not even incriminating, wound up on a site called firemycoworker.com?

I didn't realise you had posted all of those quotes. But that doesn't change the fact that they likely got them from NuggetsTalk anyways. If they read this board, they probably also know the origination.
How is the information being miscontrued or misused? It's being posted on a public forum.

Um dude, Karl gets paid millions of dollars. Coaches get fired and rehired all the time. He isn't getting any sympathy from me. Coaches are in the public eye. Coaches get paid through money that the fans put in. Coaches (in any sport) get scrutinized when they don't do so well and praised when they do do well. If Karl can't handle it, he should find a new job.
Fans put money into the franchise. If they feel something or someone is holding a team back from being better, they have every right in the world to object.
About every person on this board wants Karl fired, does that make them classless too? Where do you draw the line as to how far someone can go with their opinion before they're classless? The guy started his own blog with his own opinion. No different than any forum or blog. If someone doesn't like it, they don't have to read it.

Anonymous stuff? He signs it off with his name. He puts it on a forum you can register to and get access within a couple minutes. Taken out of context? What are you talking about. How were they taken out of context. Karl nixed the trade and assured the team turning around, but they didn't. Period. That's what Eric said, that's what is on the site. If any blogger feels that deserves a coach being fired, it is his right to post his opinion, whether it be on realgm or his own blog. Incriminating? You're just throwing words out there and hoping they make your case. It's not working.

I know that they likely got them from NT. This whole thing is in reference to MELO4MVP noting that they were here earlier. I was just saying that in retrospect I didn't think it was such a good idea.
But you kind of prove a point. Go to NT if you want to read that stuff. No need to post it here or on firegeorge.

You act like Karl is a public employee. He's not.
Anyway, with public figures who make a lot of money, you have a choice as to whether you support them and can vote with your wallet. You also have every right to say most anything you want about them in a variety of venues. It comes with the territory.
But I maintain that starting a website called fireXindividual.com is negative and classless, no matter how you want to try and spin it.

A. Eric Stratton is a character from Animal House- or did the poster say his real name somewhere?
B. If you could find the original posts (there were multiple posts but all have been deleted from NT and here), you'd see what I mean about context. You even incorrectly paraphrase that Karl assured people of a team turnaround. I don't recall that verbiage anywhere.
C. Incriminating in the sense that nobody knows that would have happened had Artest joined the team, and we're only 3 games beyond the trade deadline. So people are blaming (ie. incriminating) Karl for something that at best is premature and at worst will never be proved.

Yet he's treated no different than any other coach in any other sport. It's fair game. And I'm sure he realises it.

I'll disagree. I think it's fair game in the sports profession.

Oops. I'm not much of a TV guy or whereever Animal House is from. But my point still stands. It's on a forum anybody can get access to. that's what it all amounts to.

Did he not say he feels like the Nuggets are about to make a run so don't make the trade. Is that not assuring people of a turnaround?
Anyways, I'm all out of time. I'll just agree to disagree.
