Bill Simmons has an article devoted to the Sonics and why the Sonics situation should concern you too.

It is pretty disgusting, whats even more disgusting is that it hasnt really been brought to anyones attention outside of the Washington area (unless im the only one that didnt know the actual situation). Clay Bennet (Owner of Sonics) will still make millions if he builds a new stadium but instead he is holding a historic franchise hostage unless the fans (who are the ones that are and after the arena is built continue to make him millions) buy him a new arena. I still dont see how Stern is to blame here though, if this pr!ck doesnt want to build a new arena in Seattle unless the fans pay to have it built so he can make millions then I dont see what he can do. Can he make him build an arena? Could he make him sell the franchise to someone who is willing to invest in a new arena for this up and coming basketball team?

The Hornets cant thrive in NO but how long do you think they will stay there because of Sterns commitment to the city? I feel sorry for Sonics fans and if/when the move happens I for one will boycott watching or rooting for that team no matter how many players I like or on the team.
Go Knicks!

Whats new? Rich gets richer, poor gets poorer.

Stern is a bitch. You don't move a franchise like the Sonics around. You can move the Hornets, Bobcats, Clippers, Nets around all you want, no one cares but if a franchise has a storied history, you shouldn't move it, period.
