To Chinese playing for the national team in the olympics is a big as the playoffs in the NBA. Now think about the games being held in his own country where he is the biggest sports star for over 2 billion people.

Come on man.... you can't understand what he said in the news conference either? I think he spoke English very well and was easy to understand and I never listen to him much since I am a heat fan and we play you guys only 2 times per year.

Yao said if he has to miss the Olympic games that will be the biggest loss of his entire career up to now and he does not even want to think about that happening.

I know that his English pretty good, but I still had trouble understanding what he was saying. I watched it through NBA Broadband, maybe that's the reason why.

A little fun update


I heard yao loves eating junk food before and after games. Yaoza stop eating junk food. Houston Rockets should have their own catering service serving healthy food. Like what the japanese eat. You are what you eat, professional players should not eat burgers and fries. That ish slows you down. Especially before games.

I ate mickey d's right before a game and I had alot less energy than if i had a healthy meal!!

Well. me too I feel a big big pain in my heart that i cant explain. I feel really empty nothing I do make feel well, im very depressed.

I imagine in the way that I learned the news... i went home to have lunch and turned the tv on, switched to ESPN News just to see they where airing something about Houston, then I got excited but after 5 or 10 second I see its about something bad, then just to know that it was that Yao was going out for the remaining of the season.

I did want to cry but I just was so confused and shocked that i couldnt even cry. i just was trying to believe that was something old but not it was really.

So nobody has seen the article saying Yao got the stress fracture on Nov. 6th and it was mis-diagnosed by trainer Keith Jones as bone spurs.

It does seem like media speculation though. Thats an awful long time to play with an injury like that. Granted though...it may not have been that severe and got worst to the point where Yao can't play on it. If this is true...Jones should probably lose his job.

The Houston Rockets must fire their trainers and doctors right now. They have failed to prevent more injuries to TMac and Yao for the past few years. This is the NBA, the most professional basketball league in the world. I expect professional doctors too.
