The question is, how can we get something moving here.....Simmons in that interview seemed to hint that the petition drives, etc are coming.....

Homer of course was having none of it.....but you know Simmons deep down wishes he could have a miracle happen and pull this off. I'd like it as well. At a minimum it would help put more pressure on Kohl to do something.

The best part of that interview was when Homer started trashing Simmons for no reason and Simmons struck back with a comment about how Homer was "in the bag for his friend Larry Harris"

We're happy to keep pushing on the issue over at BrewHoop...we've been doing that and we'll keep doing it.

It's obviously a fun diversion but I think it also brings up really good questions about what it really takes to be a GM, in addition to keeping the focus on Kohl and how he's run the team.

The thing about this is that it's a fun spin to a lot of the negative stuff we've been talking about...if a bunch of us wore Simmons shirts to games it's much better than grocery bags IMO because it's a lot less negative, a lot more fun, but also sends something of a message. Maybe not the pointed one some of us feel needs to be sent, but I think it'd be pretty cool to do.

What do we think? T-shirts?

If we e-mailed him and told him we'd wear them to a game en masse, he'd probably pay for them or get ESPN to pick up the tab.

This is what Larry Harris has going for him - everyone in the media loves him. Sparky & Woeful - who are worshiped on this board - love him even though he hardly appears on his own Pro Hoops show on thursdays.

Nobody in the media seem to think the situation the Bucks are in is his fault. Kohl and his cronies are to blame (or maybe bad coaching). Even the people on this board who think Harris should go think Kohl is the real reason the team stinks.

Now that's a good idea. I am a Harris supporter but if he is done anyway, I would support Simmons. The thing I wonder is he says he wouldn't overpay role players and that is smart but could he find good role players. LH has an amazing Knack for finding obscure guards ready to break out and become legit role players like Bell, Mo, and Ivey. Can Simmons do anything like that? Thats my biggest concern cause you need to find those kinds of guys too.

I thought that was a great skill of Larry's about three years ago....then realized it is much more important that he find really good players period. Which he and Kohl seem incapable of doing.

I wouldn't mind changing the bag thing to a Bill Simmons night. The only problem is that Simmons doesn't really understand the whole "Kohl" dynamic yet as being a big part of this problem.

That said, Simmons isn't ready to run a team as a team president type. To deal with the people....the negotiations.....the organization part of it.....so maybe Kohl could keep his people in place and let Simmons handle the big stuff. He'd sure as heck be a better advisor to Kohl than guys like Harris or Majerus have been IMO.
