Post#1 » by cedric76 » Sat Mar 1, 2008 9:17 am

bring over fran

monitor battie's injury

resign Evans+dooling

draft will dictate our summer move

i'm pretty curious to see if we'll use JJ to move up but:

if we draft a PG we should sign pietrus with MLE

if we draft the BPA we should sign Duhon
Suggs, Tyus, Jase
Bane, AB, Jett
Franz, TDS,
P5, JI, Panda
Wcj, Goga, Moe

I agree that locking in Dooling is a key Summer task.

The draft will not dictate the Summer; free agent signees will.

If the Magic can nab a new starting SG, then signing Evans is dependent on his wishes to win vs. start.

From there, everything else becomes about trading for a new PF.

I see the coming draft as irrelevant to the coming season.

PG-PG -PG!

I don't hate Jameer...I think he is decent. I worry a little about trading him, because of his relationship with Dwight...but I would for the right deal.

With the rules now favoring skilled PG's, I think all of our attention should be on getting better there. We should explore all trade possibilities (that don't include our 'big 3') to improve or give us the chance to improve. We should try and move up in the draft to select a PG. If we don't move up in the draft, we should pick a PG (and hope we get lucky ala Tony Parker). We should look at FA PG's...not much there, I'm afraid.

If we don't trade Jameer...we should go into camp with a PG we trade for or a FA, PG drafted in the 1st Round, and Jameer and let them all compete for the starting position and minutes.

Also, if possible I'd like to see us keep ninja and Evans.

LOL nice

I'm all for the ninja coming back + signing Pietrus, since the draft wil prolly be a disappointment -again. As for Fran he's running out of chances, and he's not that good. Getting him only to glue his ass to the bench wouldn't be an improvement.

bringing fran over will dictate what we do over the summer

if we don't bring him over then i say we do this

draft a PG
sogn a 2 guard
re-sign evans and keyon
trade for a big (wilcox, etc)
monitor battie's injury

if we do bring him over

sign duhon
use jj and our pick to move up in the draft and pick a 2 guard
re-sign evans and keyon
and monitor battie's injury

the summer would be a lot easier if he would just bring his ass over here because if he did we would have to look for 3 positions, only 2 because with a front line of dwight/battie/foyle/augustine/gortat/vazquez i think we'd be set because that is 40% of our roster just on 4's and 5's
