SMUSHED SIGNALS

Riley indicated before Friday's game that a buyout with exiled guard Smush Parker would be completed by Saturday's 11:59 p.m. deadline for Parker to retain playoff eligibility with another team.

"That is coming to a head," Riley said. "We're working very hard to settle this."

Billy Ceisler, who represents the guard who has been on paid leave since a run-in with a parking attendant in November, said a resolution is not close.

"We're not on the same page as of right now," Ceisler said

Smush is not a horrible player. He could help somebody off the bench with some D and ok offense at times.

He needs to fix his attitude though.

He came into camp out of shape/condition; well according to our standards, but still. Knowing that he was signing with the Heat, his 1st goal/mind-set should've been to get into shape....

I think this would've had to happen 3 hours ago.

Riley said it close to done. Smush's agent said they weren't on the same page. I think Smush would rather collect the paychecks here than try to sign somewhere else (may not get another chance).

With the Heat and agent Billy Ceisler unable to come to a buyout agreement regarding exiled guard Smush Parker, the players' association has entered the process.

The hope had been to complete a buyout in time for Saturday's deadline for playoff eligibility with another team.

Instead, Parker, who has been away from the team since a November run-in with a parking attendant, remains on the Heat's payroll for the balance of this season and possibly next season.

"We put it in the hands of the players' association," Riley said. "That's where it ended up. An offer was made and they turned it down. A very good offer was made and they turned it down."

Asked if there was any chance of Parker rejoining the Heat, Riley said "no."

I think Riley would have offered a buyout where Smush got hardly any of his money. They would have threatened him with players association action, but Riley knows he can say "He has a player option, he can leave any time" and if anyone looks at the game tape Smush will have no legitimate claim for minutes (unless Smush's agent shows video of J-Wil from this season).

someone's honestly thinking of giving smush another contract?

i really doubt he goes for a buyout because i really doubt anyone else gives him a contract.

I heard the "Horny Polar Bears" from Siberia have some interest and would be willing to give him the full MLE...

Is that a sexual innuendo there?
