I think so, but not quite at the top. One thing I respect about Majerle is that he had to totally change his game to become effective when he entered the NBA, and he did, with pretty damn good results. How often do we really see that?

I'd take Spencer Haywood ahead of most of the bigs listed. Roy Tarpley, too, for that matter...

I played agianst "Mr Basketball" several times. My guess he is the most overrated highschool player of alltime.

LoL I agree. I remember when he was a senior saying he could go pro but wanted to refine his skills for a year or 2, only to have Scott Skiles call him "Hey fat boy im going to score 40 on you try to stop me' twice a year.

Boredom is getting the better of me, so I'm gonna milk this for all it's worth. This isn't based not on how the player performed at the University but rather their entire body of work.

All University of Michigan Team

PG - Jamal Crawford
SG - Jalen Rose
SF - Glen Rice
Pf - Chris Webber
C - Roy Tarpley

Bench - Rudy T/Juwan Howard/Ricky Green

Michigan State University

PG -Magic Johnson
SG - Steve Smith
SF - Jason Richardson
PF - Zach Randolph
C - Ralph Sampson

Bench - Scott Skiles, Mo Pete, Kevin Willis

Those are just off the top of my head. I'm a UofM student and I can honestly say the the all MSU team would kick Michigan's ass.

Ralph Sampson played for Virgina U.

Kevin Willis is the starting MSU center.

I think I could find 10 guards better than Crawford that went to UofM. Rudy T was a 20ppg scorer in the NBA and wheres McCormick? wasnt he all American and 1st player drafted?

Excuse me, I meant Ralph Simpson, you can put him at SG then. Rudy T's averages are 17 and 8 and I wouldn't put him ahead of Webber. McCormick was drafted 12th overall in the 84 draft. He played seven years in the NBA and his best season was 12.4 ppg. Roy pretty much kicks his ass.

I wouldn't give up on the UM squad. I'd love to see that game.

Uhhhh....Maybe I'm showing my age, but has everyone forgotten about Cazzie Russell? His pro career wasn't what most expected, but he was one of the best college players I have ever seen. He's certainly a huge step above Jamal Crawford at the SG on any all U of M team.

And Spencer Haywood IS the best center this State has ever produced. There is no viable debate on this subject. Don't forget he was the starting center and best player on the gold medal winning U.S. Olympic team after one year of JC ball, that he put up enormous numbers during his one year at U of D (32 ppg and 21.5 rpg) and is regarded by many as the best basketball player NOT in the Basketball Hall of Fame. I had the pleasure of seeing him in person at EMU's Bowen Fieldhouse where he went head-to-head against Kennedy Macintosh (a 1st round pick of the Bulls, I believe, who never made it in the NBA). I believe Haywood had 37 points and 22 rebounds. He jumped from U of D to the ABA and in his rookie season, at age 20, he led the ABA in scoring and rebounding and was the league's Rookie of the Year and MVP

I think Haywood lives in Canton. Maybe he can still ball. Better than Ratliff?
