Kobe vs Lebron??
Very simple, thought it would only be right considering they are the two players most consistently mentioned with being the best in the game. So who would you take RIGHT NOW (disregard age, cause obviously that leads to Lebron)?
Advantages Lebron:
1) Getting to the basket - Although Kobe can get to the basket with the best of them, let's be honest no one does it better than Lebron.
2) Passing - Although I feel Kobe is an underrated passer, he isn't better than Lebron weho has incredible vision. Im really happy that he finally seems to realize that he needs to close this year though.
3) Rebounding - How it should be considering Kobe plays SG and Lebron SF, but still an advantage.
Advantages Kobe:
1) Shooting - Whether it comes to 3PT, FT, or just jumpers Kobe can hit it from anywhere. Whether double or triple teamed he can still make the incredibly tough shot. No on hits degree of difficulty shots like Kobe Bryant.
2) Defense - Although Lebron's defense is much improved this year, so is Kobe's. He is playing like a DPoY and is making huge defensive plays during important times.
3) Clutch - Another category where Lebron is MUCH improved, but I just can't take him over Kobe Bryant. I feel Lebron needs to get to the rim to be truly affective while Kobe can be an assassin from anywhere.
I'm not going to lie, I am a big Kobe fan, but I definitely feel that Lebron is tugging on his cape right now. And that by next year Lebron may finally surpass Kobe as the best player on the planet.
But right now, I still got to go with Kobe Bryant!

really? this topic again?...
well i gotta say kobe. its real close but its just that kobes basketball instincts just impress me more. when the lakers need to score kobe is there. sometimes lebron tries to hard to get his teammates involved when he should be taking over the game. dont get me wrong this is not a knock on lebron its just my opinion. lebron catching up real fast tho

there are alot of Laker fans but Kobe has the most haters too.

I love how this same thread is started every time that Kobe has a good game. That being said, I agree with the analysis of the OP although LeBron has been way more clutch than Kobe this year. I do think that LeBron is the better player right now, but this is basically a pickum.

This year Kobe is averaging 28, 6 and 5. That's excellent.
LeBron is averaging 30, 8 and 8. To my knowledge MJ did that once in his career and is the only one since Oscar Robinson.
As for "Kobe is more clutch"...
LeBron James carried a team to the NBA finals. Including beating Detroit 4 straight games. Including absolutely willing his team to victory in the 4th and OT of game five, in one of the greatest clutch performances in sports history.
Kobe has never won a playoff series without Shaq. Including dropping four straight to the suns in 06. Including attempting only 3 shots in the 2nd half of game seven in one of the most disgraceful un-clutch performances in sports history.
I don't want to be a Kobe hater. He is a top 5 player in this league, and the best shooting guard. But that happened. I don't want to hear about how he is so much more clutch than LeBron.

lol you are disrespecting kobe's 10 years in the league and numerous playoffs games. Get out of here with that shi* just because the pussie east doesn't have any competition and you get to advance for taking 4steps with a basketball you suddenly don't become > than any player. Kobe didn't get the claim "best player" in just 1 playoff run. Kobe's contributed to the NBA for 10 years and to the lakers. And he's winning in the west right now and lakers are the team to beat. So don't shoot your load yet on LeBron cuz he is not ready yet.Golabki wrote:This year Kobe is averaging 28, 6 and 5. That's excellent.
