Who was the woman running the ESPN show?

Post#1 » by RoxFan08 » Mon Mar 3, 2008 4:35 am

She was really, really good. Not anything against women, but I generally find those in sports casting with little knowledge of the game.

Whoever she was, she really, really knew her stuff on the Rockets. I was very impressed.

Thought I'd put that out there.

Yeah I think she did a great job tonight. Shame on Drexler.

Doris Burke, ESPN really went deep down in the bag for the commentators. I wanted Jon Barry. I watched on MY 20 though.

It actually took me till the 3rd quarter to even realize that it was a woman talking. So I guess thats a good sign. I thought she did very well.

Doris Burke is horrible and should never be allowed on camera because looking at her(shes Fugly) is just as annoying as just hearing her talk...

good win tonight on the other hand

I don't think she was horrible. She's definitely one of the better female commentators I have ever seen. Her ideas were pretty insightful despite the fact that she kept repeating some of her arguments.

I think she gave McGrady too much credit during the game, but she doesn't seem to single out one player and criticize him.

You know who's really annoying? The guy who hosted KIA NBA Shootaround today. The guy kept sucking of LeBron's c*ck.

Yeah I remembered being surprised at the analysis she gave in a game earlier she had done (Cavs-Nuggets IIRC) and she really knew her stuff. Like TMU said though, she's very repetitive in what she says, but overall it's definitely better than Swin Cash who's a piece of trash.

i dont think she is good, nor do i think ESPN anouncers are good. she kept saying tmac is 6'9", about 5 times. I think the interviewer on the court sucks as well, he kept stuttering, i was nervous for him to choke. ESPN sucks, except for a few, TNT (announcers) all theway!!!!

Nothing wrong with her voice, but I just didn't like the commentating. They went off topic alot of times, and didn't do pbp that well. I felt she was talking about other things too much. Trying too hard by saying unecessary things. So it was annoying.. Rather have jon barry or JVG.

Espn really dropped the ball by getting a woman announcer. Where the hell is Jon barry or JVG when Rockets are playing on espn?

Speaking of JVG, anybody mention / hear his comment when he was announcing about a week ago, and the Rockets win-streak came up (far from a direct-quote)...

Announcer A: The Rockets look like a legitimate contender in the Western Conference, especially during this streak.

JeffVanGundy: Yeah, I agree. Of course they look great, now that they actually have some coaching.

Another JVG comment I found funny during a game...

Mark Jackson (after a rough foul) - "That's how we play in the streets"

JVG - "Mark's acting like he came from the ghetto. He grew up in the suburbs right next to me"

LOL
