They were thinking that if he turns out to be a good coach, we will have him under contract cheaply for 4 years.

Relax though...
It may be a 4 year contract, but only the first two years are basically team options.

We did something similar with Terry Stotts. We gave him a 5 year contract, but the last two years were team options. Only the first 3 years were guaranteed.

So it is misleading to talk about LK having a "4 year contract" just like it was misleading to talk about Stotts having a "5 year contract"

This offseason, we will either pick up the third year on LK's contract, or we will fire him, because of the whole fear of having a "lame duck coach" on possibly the last year of his deal.

LK will be going back to college to coach in the near future. I think its clear that is where his heart is and he probably regrets being an NBA coach over going to Utah.

What's the record for most consecutive years of paying two coaches? Maybe Kohl is just trying to break that record.

I too refuse to criticize our GM or Coach as long as we have an owner who meddles to the point of making their jobs impossible. Players going over their heads is just too much. This is probably why we haven't acquired a veteran coach. They stay clear of such a situation. At this point I'm looking forward to the sale of the Bucks as the only option to put this organization on the road to recovery.
