The Wizards of 07-08 might be like the Bullets of 77-78. Real Wizards fans get that. If Butler and Arenas are ready and healthy for the playoffs I have no doubt that we can make a run to at least the Eastern Conferene Finals. No teams scare me in the East but the bad reffing does. We have swept the Hornets with a NBDL line up, knocked Boston off twice without an All-Star starter in Arenas, sweeped Detriot last year (we match up well with them), can always take the Cavs out (if refs don't screw us), always play the Magic close, always play the Raptors close, and not worried about the 76ers, Hawks, or whoever is on the playoff bubble.

If not this season then next season (if Arenas stays and we keep AJ or get a good replacement) we will go to the Eastern Conference Finals. Are squad is as deep as any team on the East besides the Pistons and our young talent is getting better every game. Blatche is going to be an all-star in 2 years and already puts up 13 pts 10 rebs 2 asts 2 blks and 2 stls at 21 when he starts. It's only a handful of young 7 footers in the league that can do that. I'm excited to see how quick Arenas and Butler can heal up and ready to see them back on the court.

Agreed that "unproven" is a better moniker. I feel like it's been ages since I've seen this team healthy, and unless Arenas and Butler are full strength this team is going nowhere in the playoffs. That said, even beyond my own Wizards bias I think it's clear that this team has something special. The Wiz swept the Celtics with Arenas out and swept the Hornets with both Arenas and Butler out. Beating quality teams back-to-back can't just be written off as the product of surprise, either.

It's my own personal wish that Butler and Arenas take the season off to heal, and come back next season at full strength. The NBA has enough interesting story lines this season to keep my interest even if the Wizards fold. [/i]

your probably right, it might be best we rest our weapons of mass destruction and just run the East next season.
