Patterson would help the Mavs more than Lue, IMO.

If the Mavs wanted a sub 6'0" PG who can shoot but can't defend and can warm the bench....well, we have Barea. What do we need Lue for?

Lue has one of the prettiest 3pt shots in the league and is a decent shooter from everywhere. That's about it. I think he would have been good in Denver, still helps Dallas.

Not sure why the Dallas Mavericks didn't sign one of the many available all-star point guards in free agency. That's weird.
