Hawks' Horford named rookie of month

The Hawks' Al Horford was named the NBA's Eastern Conference Rookie for February.

Among rookies, Horford is ranked first in rebounds with 10.6 per game and double-double games (points and rebounds)with 16. He set career highs of 20 rebounds on Feb. 6 against the L.A. Lakers, and 20 points on Feb. 29 against New York. In addition, Horford recorded seven double-doubles, including three straight to finish the month.

Al is something special! We have some talented players on this team, but he could become the best of the lot. At an early age, he already has the ability to consistently play at a level that few in the league can. It makes for a very exciting future with a core of Marvin, Smoove, and Big Al.

Gotta love the kid. He's really becoming my favorite player. I read in the latest SI that him and Josh Smith got into it at practice because Al called him out Josh not going hard in front of everyone. Then Josh poured ice water on him in the shower.
