Likely that Gordan Giricek will play as a Phoenix Sun on Tue
Gordan Giricek will suit up for Phx against Portland barring any unforseen hang-ups.

The article also says that we plan to sign Linton Johnson for another 10 day contract.
I don't know why but this news actually really brightened up my outlook for the Suns. We plan to sign a good 3pt shooter and 2 decent perimeter defenders, Good news to me!

"barring any unforseen hook-ups. "
I'm going to just assume you meant to type unforeseen HANG-ups.
I'm not sold on the effect of the GG acquisition, but it can't hurt to add a shooter especially if you don't give anything up in the process. Can't argue with that. I don't know enough about the guy to know if he can really contribute... and that is usually a sign - but hey, here's to hoping.

Just alittle added trivia that I hope rings true again.
Suns have picked up two guys late in the season that their original teams have given up on, with double letter names.
JJ, Jimmy Jackson, who was strugling on the Hornets but found new life in PHX.
TT, Tim Thomas, who was asked to stay home in CHI comes to PHX and play some of his best ball in years.
And now GG, lets hope the double letter fun continues late in a season.

The trick will be is to have 2 3-point shooters on the floor at once w/ Shaq. I would imagine this will impact Nash minutes. MD won't start the same lineup against the Blazers will he?

hello from a utah jazz fan:
i think that you guys will like gordan giricek. he is a decent shooter and can play defense when he really wants to. the problem we had with him in utah is that he and jerry sloan often butted heads. i think that he will be much more effective for you guys because he is more of a free-wheeling player that fits your system to a tee. you can never have enough shooters. another interesting side note: you guys now have our two prominent shooting guards (raja bell and gordan giricek) from the 2004-2005 season when we went 26-56. i hope you guys have a little bit better luck.

Speaking as a Jazz fan whose 2nd favorite team is the Suns, I'm finding it quite difficult to watch Kerr turn the Suns from a contender to who knows what. The little twerp needs to be run out of Phoenix on a rail. The fact that people on the Suns board (here) are talking about acquiring Gordan Giricek and Tyronn Lue as positives is flat scary.
As for Giri, I'll offer a contrasting opinion. If you expect very little, you won't be disappointed. If you expect much of anything, you'll be very disappointed. Prime yourselves for many traveling violations, virtually zero defense and amazingly inconsistent shooting. On the upside though, he seems like a genuinely nice guy.
Good luck for the rest of the season.

We're going thru the natural transition that an elite team faces when they fail to get to the finals over a 3 or 4 year period. The reality of the cap says that you don't have unlimited opportunities to break thru. Kerr is starting to put his imprint on the team. It's obviously going to take awhile but I expect him to build a tougher team in the end.OC Jazzfan wrote:Speaking as a Jazz fan whose 2nd favorite team is the Suns, I'm finding it quite difficult to watch Kerr turn the Suns from a contender to who knows what. tougher ?
We haven't been tough since Mo Lucas left.
I'm done with the anointing of Kerr as if he is some sort of GM savior... we are in the payback phase of Front Office Inexperience....and Kerr is as much as a contributing-yes-man factor as anyone
just take a look at the inneffectiveness over the past 3-4 yrs...even with the magical ColonJellos pulling strings in the beginning of the 'Sarver-the-Salary-Carver's reign
