Gotta cheer Up the room every once in a while (or a least not be so damn negative all the time)... Recent article talking playoffs and the Hawks.

Anyone for the Hawks and Celtics in the playoffs?
It could happen. The Hawks are still prowling around for that eighth spot.
And the Celtics, barring an unforeseen collapse, will most likely finish among the Eastern Conference's top two.
So a potential No. 1 versus No. 8 or Nov. 2 versus No. 7 matchup in the playoffs is a distinct possibility.

I'd rather play Boston if it comes down to having the 8th or 7th seed. I don't think we'd have a chance to beat either of the top 2 seeds but I'm pretty sure we would get swept by Detroit, while we could steal a game at home against Boston. There would also be alot more people watching and more media attention if we played Boston.

I would love to watch Josh Smith for 4 (or more) games in a row.
So yeah, a C's-Hawks playoff matchup would be awesome.
Although I'd still prefer the C's face a weaker team than y'all.

I wouldn't after the way he played Sunday. Celtics are good, but not good enough for him to completely avoid the paint. He took like 12 jumpshots, by far the most he has ever taken in the game. That should be a month's worth of jump shots for him.

Except for that first brick that almost broke the backboard, I was impressed by how accurate his misses were despite his flawed form and excessive arc. If the dude ever re-engineered his form, streamlined it, shortened the arc, squared up more, and released the ball with more touch...
Just like Dwight Howard and his free throws: If I were the Hawks, I'd be spending a small fortune to improve Josh Smith's shooting technique and take it from Sketchy to Above Average, because you're talking about 5, maybe even 10 more wins per year.

I have no problem with a couple open jumpers a game, but 12? If he wasn't so effective around the rim I wouldn't be so offended when he takes these J's.

I love watching the Celtics this year. I remembered why KG used to be one of my favorite players to watch. There is absolutely no one in the league that plays like him, there was a great article about it in the New York Times where the writer said something to the effect of, "Some guys make professional basketball look easy, Kevin Garnett makes it look hard."
A big reason that the Cs are the best team in the league is that they are very talented and their peices fit. Another big reason is that collectively they play a lot harder than any other team.
I just want to see the Hawks play hard down the stretch, make the playoffs, and not play half-assed just because they know they'll lose.
