That 3 looked very natural for Young. He has a nice stroke from the outside.
Andre Miller is a bad 3pt shooter.

More importantly I don't think the Sixers called one play for Thad all game. They were practically featuring Thornton.

I don't understand why we are putting more of this lineup out there:

Daly
Smith
Thad
Iggy
Williams

I think this provides Thad his typical position. Iggy can bring up the ball a little and Williams can run around looking for a good open shot, and Smith can step out and play his game, not to mention get some time down low to show his post moves.

And why have Smith's minutes gone down so much? Is he showing at practice that he just isn't so good? I don't get it. Put him in at C, or PF, just put him in and let's see what he's got. If he truly is that bad, then try to push him off to another team in a trade this offseason I guess.

Don't jinx us. Otherwise it's your fault if we lose. :D

2 years or so ago I would be uncomfortable coming into this game. We used to let slip the game out of our hand. In that regard we made some progress so I am pretty confident that we come out and play strong basketball. We still cannot take the Clippers for granted. The Sixers should play with a sense of urgency and continue their aggressive defense.

Watch out for Kaman who struggled at the last game...

Think I'm a jinx now? Ha

Agreed 100% Dbods...I was thinking the same thing. AND Thad is VERY unselfish. When he sees an open jumper, he has the patience to work it around and try to find a better, closer to the basket, shot.

ALTHOUGH I must say I cannot stand how the guards, including Iggy, on this team, continue to take contested jumpers with 20+ seconds left on the shot clock, without even looking to run a play or work it around. I am fed up with that. Work it around, and when Thad is in the post working for position and he gets open, DON'T SHOOT IT! That puts him in an even worse position to get an O board. Give it to him!! Geez. I saw the Sixers play in person a few times this season and it seems like everytime W.G. gets the ball, he doesnt even look around, he just tries to score every play! Come on, don't be selfish. TEAM ball wins games.

I didn't have my laptop with me so I couldn't comment as the game was going on but... Al Thornton is WAAAAY too out of control on the floor. Besides putting up 10 disgusting turnovers, he played turnstile defense and let everyone through. Thad on the other had played his usual unselfish game and was on the receiving end of 2 of Thornton's 3 offensive fouls and caused the third.

Good game by the team and now it's time to come back home and handle the Sonics on Friday Night.

I only saw them feature one play for Thaddeus in the ist half.It was the weave from Miller to Young for the easy layup in the 2nd quarter. It's obvious Cheeks wants him learning defense his ist season. Personally,I do not understand it.

The 76ers demonstated tonight that speed kills, especially when the ball goes in the hoop.I was impressed with the bench winning the war 44 to 22 along with 8 assists from Lou Williams. How can anybody not be impressed with the 76ers getting major scoring down the stretch from Lou Williams,Carney and Young. I think Al Thorton scored only 1 basket in the 2nd half, while Maggette shot just 4-13.

The 76ers played tonight like a team that clearly took care of business.I hope Elton Brand enjoyed the onslaught, but he is welcome to join us next season at the Wachovia. We have plenty of room for him. Just sign on the dotted line my friend.

Technically we're only 2 games up on Atlanta but we do have 2 games in hand and 4 wins.

In order for the Hawks to pull into a tie with us they'd have to win their next 4 in a row and that isn't happening when you see that they have the Warriors at home on Tuesday Night and then travel to New Orleans for a game on Wednesday Night. It's extremely possible that we enter Friday Night's game against the Sonics with a 3 game lead over the 9th place Hawks.

IMO, truest comment on Real GM Sixers' boards all year. Great call, 51.

Unlike ESPN and anyone else, Yahoo boxscores show +/-,

which is sometimes the closest thing to intangibles . . .

Thad = +20 tonight.

I rest my case.

dbodner wrote:Does it amaze anyone else that Dalembert was supposedly a big soccer player growing up, but has such horrible footwork in the post?

Williams D has really been improving lately, particularly pick and roll D.

in my experience soccer and basketball don't translate well for foot work in he post. IN any other phase of the game it does, one of his strengths is running the floor which is attributable to soccer. Also keep in mind they said he "played soccer" not that he was any good.

One thing that puzzles me is that being a 6'8' 13 year old or whatever he was, wouldn't you think they would have stuck him in the goal? Apparently not because even after 10 years learning this sport his hands are still below average. Imagine Sam with Webber's hands.

Clipper fan here.

Great win guys. You guys destroyed us. Your current roster is what we should strive to be: younger, faster, more athletic. I'm tired of our old ER unit known as the Clippers.
