You clearly either don't watch or care about defense, or maybe just don't understand it. You lost all credibility when you claimed that Monta plays good defense when everyone in the league, even Nelson, knows he's a crappy defender.

You seem to form too much of your opinion based on labels rather than actual on court performance. You might be a great fan, but you'd make a horrible scout.

My biggest problem with Baron is that he really doesn't seem to be trying to create for people enough. It's usually Baron against the opposing team when he has the ball. When he's going 1 for 9, he needs to think drive and kick.

Prolly won't happen though. Ego is too big.

i dont mind his 1 of 9 nights at all. hes a volume shooter that can get it going at the right time (ie: he scored 5 straight in the 4th quarter to help put the game away before Jack ended it with his ever clutchness).

id prefer it if he took the ball to the rack more though, or if he stepped in for a 18 footer instead of a 3. but ill live with what he does.

Yeah I've just missed left and right all season... early in the year I tabbed Monta as our most important player by March while some people wanted Buke to start... nailed Yi and 90% of the draft (cept Brewer)... nailed Wright...

Nelson sets up Tay to fail defensively so he can give Baron a rest, and then people nitpick because they have to find something wrong... But then again, that argument of convenience sure as hell only works when the PnR is run poorly because Tay can't guard two men... what a terrible defender he is

Um....I love Travis Outlaw, but he's not half the player Roy is. He is a volume scorer with rediculous athleticism. However, his basketball IQ isn't near Roy's, he doesn't pass, dribble, or defend as well as Roy either. Roy gets his numbers with every teams best defender on him, and a defense designed to stop him. Travis gets his numbers on back up PF's, or bigger slower guys.

Outlaw is on the rise-but it's taken awhile and he's still streaky. He's athletic and he has trainwrecks too. He's like Blatche,or Dorell Wright...a year ago--probably a trade bargain. Now-expectations are often a bit too high.
T Outlaw will have some real good games. It's hard to say he will ever have Roy's consistancy. Azubuike may be a better yardstick than Roy. In the right situation Azu can look like a star. A game later...a minor factor.

LF- You should of saw Baron rooting on Brandan in summer league. He was basically coaching the kid from the sidelines, instilling confidence in him.

Come on folks, we all know Baron is a streaky shooter; so do other teams. Game plan on Baron? don't let him pass, and hope he's not hot that nite.

As for Roy vs. Outlaw....????

Outlaw, Blake, & Webster are what make the Blazers go. Roy has got a Jason Kidd jumper, and its athletic guys like Outlaw who create fits for other teams.

Really wish we coulda swung Pietrus for him in this past offseason.

Actually, you're wrong. Lately Baron has been distributing the ball, even if it doesn't get him assists. We're seeing less one on one and more coming down the court, calling a play, and giving up the ball. The selfish thing to do would be go one on one, and make himself look good with either a bucket or an eye dazzling assist. We've seen less of that lately.

So it seems it HAS been happening. He still chucks every now and then, but he's not dominating the ball like he used to.
