When did they get Gasol? Where they a bad team before that?

I still think he is one of the 5 best players in the league today. But with his numbers and his supporting cast, I don't see how you pick Kobe over Lebron.

I didn't say I would pick one over the other.

58 games is 58 games. However, the amount of games is weighted by games in respective divisions and conferences.

How many 50 win teams will there be in the East?
How many 50 win teams in the West won't even make the playoffs?

40-45 games? what that gets you a lotto pick in the west? are you kidding me? I would contend that Brons team in the west with Lebron on it doesnt make the playoffs. Three rings is THREE rings. Saying that he only won because of shaq is crap. Shaq benefited just as much as kobe did with them being teammates.

81 points. 60+ in less than three quarters enough said.

heh funny we didn't get Kobe's top 4, it would be:
1-Me
2-Kobe
3-Bryant
4-#24 from the Lakers

No one is saying that Kobe Bryant is bad, but to make claims that he is the undisputed MVP and the best player on the planet is absurd. Do not brush aside LeBron James. The Lakers have lost five straight to that same Cleveland team with the mediocre record. Most of the time during most of thost games, James has been the best player on the floor.

Once upon a time Scott Skiles had 30 assists in one game, did that make him the best passer of his generation? Yes, Kobe is amazing, and he did have a major role in those championships, but that doesn't mean that he was irreplaceable. Winning 50 games and going to the Finals when your second best player is Andy Varajao is impressive, no matter what conference you are in.

Lebron has a 14-11 record against the west this year which is 56%. That mediocre team from a horrible conference does pretty well against the superior west, and it is all because of Lebron. I respect Kobe a lot and I think that he is one of the best, but I cannot say for certain that he is hands down the best there is. Not when there are so many other factors in the equation.

wow dude, and you say you're NOT on the bandwagon?

all i have to say is where has Kobe Bryant been this whole time since Shaq left? Not on any contending team that i know of. and even HE knew it, so he made the whole kerfuffle in the offseason about demanding a trade.

Shaq won those rings. Not Kobe. Not DWade. Not Penny (ok, almost won rings).

Kobe's great. there's no denying that. but if i had to pick between him and LBJ it'd be LBJ every time. just look what LBJ did last season with his lowly Cavs team. took them to the Finals. can Kobe say that? nope.

i'm not even a Kobe hater. and if anything i'd probably even go so far as to make him and LBJ even in the best player in the world stakes. but if i HAD to give one the tip, it'd be LBJ.

Dwight did the correct thing. (And I am glad he is aware that he still needs to do more to become as good as the others)

I believe the goal of the question is to learn how the great players of the game think of the other great ones. Even though what Lebron thinks of others without including himself would make a nice answer, how he puts his name in that list, like what he actually thinks of the others compared to himself based on their achievements and roles in their teams, would also make another good one.
