Mark D'Antoni?

Post#1 » by yearsago » Tue Mar 4, 2008 4:13 pm

Phoenix fans seem to be hating on this guy right now.

Would he be the right coach for the future?

Why are Phoenix fans disgruntled?

He seems to be an excellent assistant coach, e.g., his work with Barbosa. But, I don't think he has the ability to be a good head coach (at least not above the high school level).

I think D'Antoni's style, while popular for a while, has been proven to not be a championship winning style.

Because of that, I don't really want him coaching our team, although he'd sure as hell be better than what we have now.

Suns win the Western Conference finals sans Tim Donaghy. Watch that video, there is NO WAY he didn't have a part in the Suns losing that series. Also, who was Steve Nash before D'Antoni? That said, he can't and won't be able to make Shaq and Nash work together. The only reason Nash works is their crazy style and Shaq works... well... uh... yeah. But who could make Nash and Shaq work together? This situation isn't his fault, it's the absolute and complete idiot Steve Kerr's problem. I hope D'Antoni gets fired before Kerr because honestly i hate the Suns and I want to see them lose. I see Kerr reaching Isaiah Thomas status before his career as a gm is over.

There ain't no Mark D'Antoni. Dan D'Antoni works with Barbosa and Mike D'Antoni is the head coach. D'Antoni loves the run-n-gun, and he's an excellent coach, but even he can't right Phoenix's ship to obscurity. Congrats on getting Phoenix's Lottery pick.

Actually, the way his team plays, there ain't no "D" in D'Antoni.

Mike sucks.
He's not a horrible coach, but he's vastly overated.

He's part of the reason why the Suns havent made the finals since the Nash era
