The espn game got me equally curious,
So last night I actually checked their boards and posted on the "this offense..." thread. They have a version of Sendem under the name Melo4Life or something, he's been spewing venom towards AI.

You have a .600 team playing in the tough western conference, and we're a .450 team playing in the horrid eastern conference. The fact that we might sneak into the playoffs and them miss out doesn't mean we're a better team, and should not delude you into thinking we're ready to compete with the big boys.

That venom was being spewed in the Houston/Denver game thread as well. Very similar to the postings about AI and the Sixers prior to his being traded. References to "one-on-one" play and a lot of shots and no ball movement, etc ... I saw one comment indicating they felt the trade was now officially "a failure", stating that their troubles began with that trade.
That being said, they still have a talented team and could still make the playoffs, I was just struck by the comments that appeared to be very similar to what was being said on this forum during the latter stages of the AI era.
Just ran by this board real fast and saw your location. Did you happen to go to the Collingswood-Cinniminson game last night at Twp? That was one hell of a game...barkley34 wrote:I think they really miss Nene. He played pretty good late last season and against the Spurs in the playoffs. if your hopes are riding on Chucky atkins and a guy who just diagnosed with cancer and will recieving kemo for the next month, then i worry for you. I am rooting for the nugs cuz i am an iverson fan, but they still play no defense and will not get past the first round until they come to the game ready to stop some people.
