Salmons is a fantastic player. Maybe the most underrated in the league. You have a keeper there.

Kobe struggled. I'll say some of it was good defense, and the other was due to just an off night; you can give Kobe fits, but he's Kobe Bryant, he usually hits shots no matter what. In the fourth, he took over, and the calls started to come our way. I thought Gasol got hit a lot and never got calls, but it just might be my bias.

Regardless, it was fun to watch, and I can't wait until Sunday. Hopefully that game can be just as entertaining.

Thanks, I thought the Kings played great D on Kobe, but he took over in the 4th, even though I feel he was being bailed out quite a bit..

Alot of us Kings fans are wondering why Salmons was suddenly ineffective at the end, as well. He was definately giving the Lakers fits.

I wish we could replace him with Calabro.

Well he probably will be looking for a job in a couple of years. Can't see him going to OKC with the Sonics.

Kobe was bailed out, even though you have to admit, the Kings were getting a majority of the calls in the first 40 mins or so. Gasol was getting MURDERED in the post and nothing was called.

I had a Mirror Pond during the game, but now it's about bed time (won't be drinking).

Wait, so I don't even have to argue that point? Maybe you fans aren't so bad after all, even though I do still hate you and your stupid cow bells. :D

Trust me on this, when Crittenton is a 20ppg scorer and 6-7apg, it will be a fair deal. That kid is going to be a stud. That with 10 mil in expirings and 2 first rounders is going to be a fair deal.

But screw it! We got Gasol!

True, but even if the Lakers don't get into the Finals, those two 1st rounders are pretty much useless. Plus, I'm sure the Grizzles could have gotten expirings + picks from pretty much anyone in the league. I think Crittenton would have done better in a system like Sacramento, IMO.

Crittenton will never be a 20 and 6 guy. Stop lying to people.

Farmar > Critt

Deal with it.

By the way, the Kings have nobody to blame but Ron Artest. He was schooling Lamar Odom all game, especially in the post and then all of sudden he started jacking up 3's in the 4th. He's the very Definition of a black hole.

Well, as was probable, the Lakers really got it going in the 4th qtr. We were playing very well up until the Lakers balance took over late. Teams like that can manage the game, and then up the level of play as a constant in the 4th qtr. I've watched the Spurs do it for years.

And on Ron's missed shots late, I thought only two or three of them were bad shots, where there could of been a better shot gotten. The rest were either with the clocks running down (shotclock before the 40-30 second range, and the gameclock when the game got to seconds because that was desperation to try and get closer) or was good defense by the Lakers, taking away other options on offense. Specifically on the drive he had where Ron got past Odom, but when he got to the basket he missed because of the defense effecting his shot.

John also noticably forced it a couple times later in the game while he was still in, and in general he takes an amount of bad shots too, but still in a small amount just as Ron does. It's just Ron gets more flack for it because it's Ron Artest. It goes both ways, though.

With that defense by the Lakers, part of it was Kobe shutting down Kevin Martin, which wasn't surprising at all. Considering Kobe's a great defender, and the 4th is when Kobe cranks up his defense, and when defense is upped in general. Also Kobe shutdown Kevin in a similar fashion in the TNT Arco game last season, where we had the 4-5 pt lead late, but choked the game away to an overtime. Kobe will probably will do it again against Kevin in the 4th, with the game being competitive.

Both Ron and John played strong games, and both did very effective jobs defending Kobe. But Ron's obviously going to be the main guy on him (or others he'd guard), and as he should. Unless Ron's getting a rest or in foul trouble.

I just thought we should of doubled Kobe more than they did, though. Make others take shots or force Kobe into a turnover.

I also think there was some fatigue playing a factor in the 4th qtr, with some of the missed shots and possessions.

Brad and Beno also played well. Brad with the usual all-around game. Beno's ability to make some of these shots is becoming a regularity. Just impressive.

Maybe through my beer goggles I saw something different. I saw Pau Gasol beating us up throughout the game. Yes the Kings down the stretch either were shooting with the clock winding down or rushing shots (Ron included but not exclusive), but to be honest the Kings panicked. Up 7 with 5 minutes to go at home and you are rushing crap...no poise did us in. I blame Beno just as much as I do anyone else for that.

The bottom line though Gasol was a beast, and the difference in the game. He kept the game close enough to where Kobe could finish.

Sorry Mitch...but didn't see you for the beer.

There were a lot of Laker fans in the building. Through trash talk there was this cute Laker dress/jersey wearin' broad that I told her she wasn't allowed to talk anymore when she said "I'd rather the Lakers lose to the Kings than a good team in the West. Another set of fans taped 4 pieces of printer paper together to make a beat the Queens sign. I had to ask...was that real scotch tape? Also I told them next time to bring a real sign, and not one that looked like big toilet paper.

WTF? Gasol was getting murdered? He shot 4 less free throws than OUR ENTIRE TEAM. When you play in the post you're going to be banging and calls our missed but there were way more calls for him than against him. People say that crap about Duncan all the time(who gets less calls btw) but that's just the way post play is. From my perspective Miller got murdered a couple times and Martin got f'ed over but Gasol got the majority of the calls. He shot 13 free throws... we shot(as a whole team) 17...
