Something is obviously off here (the votes were most certainly manipulated one way or the other). There is no way that that many people voted and the results would be THAT lopsided, especially in LeBron's favor.
Maybe I need to write a script that manipulates the HTTP header to spoof my IP address so that I can "post" a favorable vote for Kobe over and over again. I'm 99.9% sure that this was done, and it's not too difficult to accomplish.

For those who think LeBron should be the MVP, they should really try to come up with a good explanation for their choice. LeBron is playing great, but his team doesn't even have the record to make it to the playoffs in the western conference. Essentially, they are voting for a player coming from the 10th place team in the Western conference. And yet, they helt not winning enough games as the reason they didnt vote for Kobe in the past years. Sure, LeBron is putting up some good numbers but he isn't even close to the 35 points a game Kobe was averaging the last two years.

It's obviously hacked.
The Poll just got 100,000 votes in less than an hour. In fact, it's generating 1,000 new votes per minute... on a Midnight (3 AM ET).
It's easy to hack NBA.com polls.
Unlike ESPN, all you have to do is "Turn-Off" your Cookies, and you can vote as many times as you want on NBA.com.

Kobe should have a lot more than that. I say it should be a 3 way race between him Lebron and Paul and all should be around 30%.

Lerbon is doing what Kobe was doing last couple of years.
Doing it all by himself.
And his team is in the middle of the conference.
But no one was giving Kobe any MVP votes when he score 81, score over 40 points in over 10 stright games.
Now everyone is saying Lebron have better stats, and doing more for the team.
While Kobe's team is NO1 in western conference.
So this is the questions, should me take away Nash's MVP for last couple of yrs? Because Kobe have better scoring, Rebounds and block shots?

That is just a poll for people's opinion and since it doesnt require you to register to nba it is easily hacked and was probably done to get a laugh as they know kobe is higher up in the mvp race.
Below is the player ranking... i think this is the real race to mvp results:
http://www.nba.com/features/player_rankings.html
shows that kobe is number 1 right now followed by lebron... kinda weird KG fell down that far just because of injury or that boston kept winning and playing good defense without him.
