Will Hedo have to be traded this summer?

Post#1 » by MJallday59 » Wed Mar 5, 2008 9:23 pm

I'd like to hear what you all have to say about it??

I know Otis said he likes Hedo but... Shard is getting max money to be the guy. I don't know, just watching Shard during interviews he seems frustrated. I've noticed him making comments such as

"I have to find a way to get my shots but, it's all about timing. I can't post up because dwights down there and he's shooting a high percentage" etc.

Overall, he looks kind of bummed out after games. So again, will Otis look to move him(Hedo) this summer so his "star signing" can shine?

Lewis signed his contract knowing that he would be Dwights sidekick. He might be a tad dissapointed that Hedo is just that right now. Do we need to trade Hedo to make him happy? I do't think so. Do we need to trade Hedo to get better, not sure. Hedo is very important to this team. Right now I would only trade Hedo if it meant getting a allstar/close to being an allstar type PF or SG. That would make our roster more balanced..

But not just to make Lewis happy..

u know i have been saying that we're gonna have to, but i thought he was a free-agent this year. since he still has another year on the contract, i dunno. We need his scoring, and if we get a solid big-body somehow, we might be able to move him to the 2.
Whether you think you CAN or you think you CAN'T, you're right.

Then how would you trade him.. Only a S&T would work in that scenario..

But I agree we might be able to move him to SG and Shard back tohis SF position..

well the poll asks will he be traded this summer. So I have to go with no. I don't see it happening. However if you would've asked should he be traded I would say yes. Buy low sell high, but I doubt Otis would do it.

Well which is needed more?

Hedo's Scoring

Solid Point Guard play

Rugged Rebounder/Defender?

If Orlando received an offer such as Hedo/Bogans for (S+T)Paul Milsap/Harpring do you turn it down?

Or Hedo/Bogans for Andre Miller?

Is it then ok to pull the trigger???

I doubt Otis pulls any trigger if Hedo is involved. You can tell he's a big part of the teams chemistry and he's been the go to guy in late game situations. not to mention he also sets up the offense and is our best inbound passer. I just dont see Otis taking any chances by trading him.

Any offseason moves will almost entirely depend how the team fares in the playoffs... if the two SF lineup is exposed as many suspect, then something will likely give.

That's what I said in another thread. But it also possible we'll take another gamble by putting Hedo at SG..

I still dont see a reason to trade Hedo. Its better to keep him and try to add a cheap PF, FA or draft.

Voted no because I think this team as much as it claims offense is not a problem would struggle without Hedo too often. I'm hoping its a no but i have to think when signing Shard moving Hedo was in the cards.

You can't just go and trade a player because they had a good season. At some point you have to start to build on what you have. Let get some facts strait:

1)They are building the team around Dwight.

2) Hedo and Rashard both compliment Dwight's talent.

3) The team is about to win +50 games for the first time in 12 years.

4) The team will have home court in first round of the playoffs for the first time in 12 years.

Why would you want to break that apart? It should not cost us Hedo to get a decent pf to play next to Dwight. Shoot we have Tony Battie coming back next year. It time to build on the talent not trade it away. When it comes to Hedo contract Otis will take care of that. The team is not going to let him get away.

if only Battie wasnt injured we could alternate Hedo/Rashard/ Battie and Stan can find the best rotation

no we shouldnt trade Hedo. He should be our SG.

Its hard to get anything good back for Hedo cause his salary is so low. And now our expirings are gone.

The Magic are going to have to learn how to draft players. We can't keep screwing up draft picks. We need to get a diamond in the ruff. We passed on some really good players that last couple drafts who would have helped a lot.

if the magic were willing to try shard at the 4 why wouldnt we try shard or hedo at the 2?

i dont see a lineup with one of them at the two being anymore of a defensive liability than shard at the 4...with that said i doubt we make a change as drastic as getting rid of hedo in the offseason.
Summertime and the livin's easy....

we need one decent big to come off the bench for us, that is all. our line-up right now is great, but sometimes we lack that other big like when dwight is in trouble or if we're playing a team with two solid big starters.
