Whoever wrote this article is intellectually challenged in a basketball sense.
Comparing Kobe to Kyle Korver are you even serious? A weak argument whatever way you look at it.

I think Kobe deserves recognition as the best player in the league and the most valuable to his team. I'm not sure the MVP award has always accomplished that based on previous recipients.
If anybody deserves such recognition this year, it has to be Kobe. He cemented that last night IMO against the Kings. He basically took the team on his back in the 4th quarter and would not let them lose.
He is playing a great all around game: offense, defense, leadership, involving teammates, etc...
I think Kobe's legacy will be defined as one of the greatest of all time, regarldess of whether he gets an MVP award or not.

Does Kobe make his teammates better? These numbers were taken on Feb. 22 when the research was done.
Sasha - 7.8ppg, 48fg%, 43%-3pt (all career highs)
Gasol - 21.9ppg, 65fg% (both career highs)

Bynum - 13.1ppg, 64fg% (both career highs)

Turiaf - 6.7ppg (career high)
Ariza - 52fg%, 33%-3pt (both career highs)
Odom - 49fg% (career high)

How about the Cavs with LeBron? Same date for the numbers taken....
Ilgauskas - 13.6ppg, 47fg% (both 7th worst of his 10yr career)
Varejao - 51fg% (3rd worst of 4yr career)
Pavlovic - 35fg% (worst of 4yr career)
Gooden - 44fg% (worst of 6yr career)
Devin Brown - 39fg% (tied for worst of 6yr career)
Hughes - 38fg% (worst of 10yr career)
The only player on the Cavs that is shooting a career high is Gibson.

"To me, even though I think Kobe is more skilled, I think LeBron is more dominant. Kobe shoots better, but, to me, how well you shoot isn't as important as how well you score. LeBron scores better. I think that because LeBron still has work to do on his game that many don't give him the credit for the things that he can do better than anyone else (like take it to the rack, finish after the foul for the 3 point play). To me, when you add up all that does bring, his actually bring, the sum total is higher than Kobe's is, even though Kobe may win more categories."
This is by far one of the most IGNORANT response post from that blog. Last time I checked shooting is the same amount of points as scoring a dunk or layup.
Also why should it be so amazing that a 6'8 250 pound guy with lebron's athleticism can finish strong at the basket. If he didn't finish strong THAT WOULD BE SOMETHING AMAZING.
Give kobe that same frame and there would still be a HUGE DIFFERENCE in their games, and kobe may average 80pts a game.
Then this jackazz goes on to admit that kobe brings more to the table. This era is so infatuated by dunking the ball that it is considered more important than a all around game.

This looks oddly familiar to what I posted a couple weeks ago...

Just to add to that...
Wally was averaging 13ppg in 23min (46fg%, 43%-3pt) with Seattle
Wally in 6 games with Clev.. 12ppg in 31min. (32fg%, 38%-3pt)
HUGE DROP-OFFS... Yet another example...

LeBron is the best player this year, and the distance between the 2 will only grow as the seasons go by. Kobe is fantastic, a legend, and one of the best to ever play the game. With that being said, LeBron is just 23 years old and is ALREADY his equal. Kobe won't be getting any better then this. That sure isn't a knock, but this is Kobe's prime and this is as good as it gets for him. We are still 4-5 years away from LeBron's prime...that is what makes him so scary.

its a fickle deal from night to night. kobe hits 52, hes an MVP. lebron hits 50, hes an MVP. so it does go back and forth.
i would say kobe by not hitting the last second shot the other night, took a chink in the voting category and some folks switched back over to lebron. if lebron screws up another night, and kobe comes out hot, he will take the lead again.

^^ If that makes him less of an MVP worthy candidate, what does LeBron and the Cavs losing to the Bulls a couple of nights before do to James' chances? Or his dismal performance against the C's or the loss to the Bucks? We could go back and forth with this hehe. They've both had some losses as of late and so has Paul, so I think they pretty much stand pat in their positions.
I'm clenching my fists for Kobe to get it, but ultimately going deep in the playoffs and perhaps even more would mean a lot more to me than this award. Although it will be used as a measuring stick when these players retire...

This person is basically saying LeBron should be MVP because he has better stats
Theres a reason MVPs are voted by qualified people
I feel like this writer is threatened by Kobe's 52 pt performance. lol
