Doesn't the league cover a large percentage of veteran minimum contracts?
Seriously, I am 6'1 with dodgy ankles from basketball and I think I could have contributed the same amount to this team as he did.

Yeah I hear ya. I honestly have never seen a funnier NBA personality then Pollard. I think I'm hanging my criticism on what I'm assuming is a lack of conditioning on his part. Which really isn't fair cause I don't know jack.

Shrug. Pollard seldom played and was signed for one year. Brown essentially replaces him on the depth chart. So, his lost wouldn't affect the team as a whole significantly. Besides, I didn't see him being resigned after this season. House could be resigned, though.

Undoubtedly, in addition to his size, the Celtics found Pollard's rebounding ability and intensity and energy appealing. Plus, after playing for the Cavaliers last season, he has experience with a playoff run to the NBA Finals. And it doesn't hurt that Pollard played two years at Kansas alongside Paul Pierce.
At the very least, Pollard promises to keep the locker room loose with his quirky humor and unusual hairstyles, like the mini-Mohawk he sported with Cleveland.
Joking aside, if Pollard stays healthy and earns an opportunity to play consistently, he could be a pleasant surprise.

Not trashing him as a person or because he's injured--- Scot's a fun guy and I don't think anyone wants to see him suffer.
But really, this guy is making more money than most of us will ever see for basically hanging out with KG and the boys, doin' a few videos on the side. Plenty of humanity in that.

Wow, he even needs an ankle reconstructure. This injury will take a lot of time to heal. In other words, he won't be back with us next year. This year, he will be recovering while receiving the rest of his $1.2M salary, and maybe even a ring. And he'll get that for resting (unless we cut him)!

Talk about negligence. How did Pollard pass his physical? I think he'd held off surgery to secure a contract with Boston. This is a prime example of a player stealing money from a franchise. His attitude and admission of guilt is unbelievable. A player putting his career at risk to simple prove what exactly. He'll be a spectator on the bench now and still receive a ring if the Celtics win a NBA championship this season. Heck, Scalabrine can do that and he plays and contributes in effort, if anything.

The leage covers the difference between the league minimum and the veteran minimum. I'mn not sure, I don't think they cover the tax on that part.
