I think we would be a .500 team without Hedo this year. Everytime a game is tight we turned to him in the 4th quarter. He made us believe that if we stay in the game till the 4th quarter, we will get a win. He is the best playmaker, ball handler and clutch player in the team. No need to mention who feeds our D12 beast.
It feels crazy to think of trading him (unless you are getting a franchise player - we dont need one as we have D12).
The fact that SVG and Otis believes in him making a trade very unlikely.
During the playoffs we will need his clutch play more because in a possible 2nd round matchup, every minute of the game needs to be treated as last minute of the 4th quarter. Now he has played consistently good ALL season, he will continue to do so rest of the season and next year.
At the end of next year I'm fairly sure he would opt out of his cheap contract and re-sign with Orlando for 5yr/60M. This is good money for him and for us; that costs half of Ra$hard's contract for a better player/cornerstone.
I like the Hedo/D12 combo very much and I do not believe Otis/SVG would want to play a 4th quarter without Hedo on the court.
The answer is; No. Don't trade him. Won't trade him.

He will go from guarding Tashaun Prince to Rip Hamilton. Instead of defending Shawn Marion he has Dwade. He goes from defending Luol Deng and Nocioni to Ben Gordon. I'm not convinced Hedo can do that unless we play primary zone defenses behind him.
I agree.
I don't think ANY SF in this league can play the SG role perfectly.

When did he said that ? Quote ?
Heard him on the radio, so I can't give a link. He said, roughly, "When the Magic got Hedo, I thought, 'Why didn't we (the Heat) pick him up?' " then he went on to talk about Hedo's height, shooting, IQ. etc. Earlier, (again in an interview) SVG said that one of his first moves as a coach was to tell Hedo that it was time for him to stop being lazy. It would no longer be acceptable for him to be a role player, but he would have to be the star player he was meant to be.
But you don't need a quote to know how SVG feels about Hedo. All you have to do is observe how he uses him.

I don't think Hedo is going anywhere. The Magic are going to win 50 games this year, for the first time since 1996!!! We've finally started to bust out of that Shaq mess. He and Shard are literally perfect compliments for Dwight Howard. I think we can land a serviceable power forward for the MLE, but you guys all expect superstars at every position. Thats one of the major problems with this board. A solid big that crashes the boards and can hit a 15 footer will be perfect, whether a starter or reserve.
You look confused...let me fill you in.

Charley Rosen wrote a piece about Hedo:
The point-forward position has a long and honorable history. Think of Rick Barry, John Johnson, Anthony Mason and LeBron James. Notice that all of these guys were (and are) small forwards.
For the Magic, the 6-8 Hedo Turkoglu adds a unique twist to this category by functioning as his team's point-power-forward.
Accordingly, in the Magic's win over the valiant (and Bosh-less) Raptors, Turkoglu's numbers were much more representative of a point guard than a power forward.
What's the difference in Turkoglu's game?
Whereas Brian Hill either posted Turkoglu or positioned him to shoot treys, Stan Van Gundy completely trusts him with the ball (Turk the Turk also executes all side-inbounds passes) and has greatly expanded his role.
So much so, that it's really Hedo Turkoglu (and not Dwight Howard) who is the Magic's prime mover.

BTW, got to love with what Stan has done with Hedo and this team.[/quote]

I heard this interview, too. It might have been on one of his coaches shows.
