Totally agreed CX44 - and the suffering wasn't all that bad...

Our one year in the lottery netted the astute choice of Bynum and the other two years were playoff seasons where we were eliminated in competitive series against the Suns. That's not even really suffering by other teams standards.

Plus, the Kobester played a relatively entertaining form of basketball in the meantime... ;)

I must say that I miss the old days but it was time to move on, look at us now. Were better off taking Kobe's side. It was better to build around Kobe because he is younger than Shaq. Shaq was slowing down and Jerry Buss kewn it and wasn't about to give him 30 million a year for him to just sit on the bench either. It been 4 years and now were back at the top again. Sometimes in life you have to go trough bad time just to get to a better place.

I'm just glad we didn't go with Gerald Green over Bynum.

ok. i'll jump in.

we wouldve won, maybe 1 more. but then, done. we would be in dire straits looking to rebuild right now. and looking for scrubs and replacements to fill in the gaps. this would be the final years of an old man looking to retire. and he wouldve retired. and that wouldve been a long brett favre type of retirement procedure.

but RIGHT NOW, we are going in for more titles. instead of looking like an old retirement team, we are younger and can take down several titles in the next several years.

this is actually incredible. from dynasty to dynasty in a matter of a few years. we could actually put together back to back dynasty's in the same decade. which is just off the charts.

with shaq,(and im a shaq guy), we wouldve won 1 more, but the dissension between kobe and shaq wouldve just been crazy unbearable.

They would have sucked like the Heat. They would have been better then the Heat cause Kobe is better then Wade but in the West it would have made them going after the 8th and after being that good for so long teams would take it to them just to see them lose. It would have been horrible.
